  1. I so enjoyed your review of your cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on FOS. We will have the same itinerary leaving on April 1, 2017 and this is our first cruise with Royal Caribbean. Thank you for taking time to share your adventures with us.

  2. How do price changes work on Royal? We normally cruise Carnival, and I'm aware of how those work, depending on the rate you book. But I keep seeing the price of my cruise go down in my category. When I ask my TA about it, she always says that is for new bookings only. Is this true? Or are you ever eligible for price drops?

  3. We've done one Disney cruise and three carnival and have two more booked on Carnival. We are Disney people generally. My husband and I got married there, and we are drinkers of Mickey's kool aid. HOWEVER, we have actually enjoyed our Carnival cruises much better! My son was 10 on our Disney cruise, and he didn't like the kids club! He's over the characters, and the rest of it is nice, but certainly NOT enough to justify two to three times the cost. We actually found the food better on Carnival, and our servers on Disney (Fantasy), weren't all that great. We also weren't overly thrilled with the shows. not that we think those are much better on Carnival, we just didn't think they were as great as everyone makes them out to be. I think what we like about Carnival is that there is no pretension. They are who they are, laid back, just have fun. There's none of the "we are Disney, so we must be better" kind of attitude. It was relaxing! now, I will say, there is no comparing the ships. Disney ships themselves are beautiful, and the detail is great. But...once I see it, the rest doesn't matter. I thought the pools were entirely too small, and I would rather have a waterpark like on the Breeze than have an aquaduck. That's a one and done for me. I would rather go on three Carnival cruises for the cost of one Disney any day!! But...to each his own. Only you will know what you prefer! That's why there are so many ships....something for everyone!

  4. I remember seeing something about passport expirations but can't remember or find it. My son's passport will expire in May. We are taking a cruise in December. Will he be ok if something happens? Six months sticks in my head as a bar date?

  5. I know there are threads on this, and I have read them, but I'm having a hard time getting my head to understand.

I booked an early saver rate. If I see a price change, is the new rate given and I am no longer an early saver? Today is final payment date for my cruise. And there is a price drop. So wondered if by changing my rate today, do I lose price protection through cruise date?

  6. Do these exist? Ones that will work to pay your balance on your cruise? on our Carnival cruises, I have been able to get gift cards at a discount to save some money on our cruise. This will be our first one on RCI, so not sure if this is a possibility. Every place I would normally find them have restrictions on them, so I can't use them to pay final balance, and since I booked through a TA.
