We abused it a little as well.  Some of the servers would offer us bottles of water and we sometimes took them to the room (didn't use vouchers for water though).  Also, we were guilty of taking a glass of wine with us to dinner (did use vouchers for this) after going to the party.  I know, tacky, but we didn't need a lot and it was easy.  Now we can be less tacky and order wine at dinner like the fancy people 🙂

We never really went over 5 drinks including bottles of water so this won't affect our total experience.  One time I had 3 at the party and spent the rest of the night wishing I hadn't.  We'll just be able to use them any time of the day and that's a win.  So, if we want a sail-away drink we can have one then and another at some other time and still score a bottle of water for the evening in the room, etc.  It's a pretty good system.

I expect this will affect the massive tips the servers in the Diamond Club used to get and that's sad.  We'll still continue to tip whoever we get the drink from wherever we are on the ship.  The drinks are free so a tip seems reasonable (win-win).

I agree it limits what we drink before dinner and ultimately feel less alert the rest of the evening. We always took a glass to dinner. We can still bring two bottles of wine onboard for our room. Regardless it will be great to sail again.

Four drinks (alcohol or non alcohol) for the day no matter where you order them. Like in the past the C&A drinks on your Seapass cards do not carryover. Use or loose.

I enjoyed grabbing my voucher drinks and putting them in my room then going to Diamond Lounge. I guess that is over.

Yes, I know this.  I was asking the other poster that expects changes for their 10/15 sailing what they expect or hope will change.

I have no idea what might change, only saying that  things are always changing, so I’m waiting until it’s a few weeks out to see what the current protocol is. So sense worrying now about a cruise in 57 days. I’m vaccinated and will get the negative test if needed.

The 3 vouchers per day was an extension of the Diamond Lounge happy hour by allowing one to get 3 house beverages at other bars (but often excluding restaurants).

This new system, which supplants the prior one, allows for any beverage up to $13, so you're not stuck with house wine or cheap liquor. (One can pay the delta above that, too, which wasn't possible before.) You can find the program updates here.

“These can be used at any bar, at any time, in the Diamond Lounge during Happy Hour or in our private destinations. Consider it happy hour all day long!”

What is your interpretation of this as it pertains to Diamond Lounge. Does it mean we only get 4 drinks in the lounge if we haven’t used our vouchers during the day or are drinks in the lounge unlimited as in the past?  Thanks

  5.  I would say it depends on what temperature you can tolerate. We were very grateful for the body suits because once we had them on and we had to dunk in under to get them full of water it was freezing, and we’re from Florida  the water will always be  in the high 60s. Everyone has to the shower before they put the suit on and shower after. My recommendation is not to drink the lemonade.  Sure of what it cause my husband stomach issues but he had Montezuma‘s revenge after the meal

  6.  We did this excursion and one of the reasons may be that there are some very small areas that you have to climb through. My husband is 6 foot 210 pounds and a little bit of a belly and he had a hard time getting through some of the more restrictive spaces So if he weighs more but is thinner he might be able to get into  the tighter spaces. It was an amazing trip. Don’t drink the lemonade they offer after, my husband had montezuma’s revenge the next day.

  7. We sailed Celebrity Solstice to Alaska in July. As usual we brought our formal wear, gowns, tuxes. We were surprised when we boarded that the new formal wear description was “Evening Chic”, in its description it dressed it down to designer jeans with a nice top. Not knowing what to expect we wore out usual attire, long dress and tux. We were the only ones dressed up...we got a lot of stares, I felt a bit uncomfortable but also elegant. We did not wear it the second formal night. The reason for this post is...what is formal night attire on Royal. I don’t want to waste time packing dresses and tuxes if they will not be worn.

    Thanks for the update..

  8. Thanks for all the posts...it was fun following you for the week. We sail in 35 days on Harmony...

a couple questions..Andrew will you be uploading daily compass’s? Son’t need all the extra stuff just the daily stuff. Also when we were on Celebrity in July they changed formal night to “Evening Chic”, no one wore evening dresses, my husband and I were the only ones in gown and tux...We enjoyed the attention!! What is formal night on RCCL now? Should we leave the formal stuff at home?

Again, thanks for the ride, safe travels home...
