If the question is, can you cash in points and use that to make final payment, yes you can. When you have enough points to convert to OBC you also have enough points to convert to a payment on your cruise. To me that makes the most sense.i use the points ahead of the cruise, instead of waiting for the cruise and seeing the OBC.  Then when I build up new expenses on the cruise, I use the credit card to pay them and get double points.

I didn’t understand that’s what you meant in your first post above. That’s brilliant! Thank you for sharing!

The points are also redeemable for sailings on Royal Caribbean and Azamara, so if you sail those lines you can still get OBC. You also get double points for all charges to any of those lines; as long as the charge is to the Royal Caribbean parent company, it qualifies. Been taking advantage of this as I pay off my Bermuda cruise on Anthem of the Seas this October, so I have even more points to redeem when I sail Summit next August! 😊

I had forgotten about the double points!  I’ve made all our payments on our X cruise on the Eclipse 15 night RT to Hawaii from Los Angeles this October!  I knew about the points usage on Royal &  Azamara.

You might also consider applying that money to your credit card before you sale.  Then when you are on the ship and you start building up new expenses, you’ll be getting double points for those. This is all assuming you will sail on Celebrity Again sometime and intend to keep that credit card

👍   We have two other cruises booked with Celebrity.  We will keep the card, use it for big purchases, cruise payments, deposits, etc and then just pay those amounts off right away.

Could someone please post a direct link to the Summit deck plan for Deck 7, post renovation?.   We are trying to see what,  if anything,  replaced the Acupuncture area on that deck.

( tried CC  search, other links and the odious X website.. ...no luck today!

    Thanks...

Got this on the Celebrity Site.  Just go to Ships-Celebrity Summit - then scroll down.  All the deck plans are listed on the bottom of the page:

That’s the same thing I found on a different web site.  The cabins displaced the Nail Salon and Acupuncture

Does anyone have pictures showing the new layout of the Oceanview Cafe?

I'm hoping its more like the setup on the S class ships.

    TIA

I think post #810 has the videos a passenger posted.

  6. I wasn’t able to order my luggage tags to be mailed so I was wondering if anyone had purchased plastic holders for “printed from home” tags. I’m afraid just the “paper” tags aren’t strong enough. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

These are what I use and I love them! Bought on Amazon and have used them multiple times and have used them for plane travel as well.

  7. Is there a plan you follow, a book? I would like to try it but don't know where to start.

I just read Simply Keto by Suzanne Ryan, bought on Amazon, it’s her story (she lost over 100 lbs) and explains Keto and lots of recipes. And I joined her Facebook group Simply Keto Karma, great support system and success/struggles overcome stories and recipes.

My husband and I will start Keto the first week in August, travel plans make it too difficult to start now.

Excited to have found this group now!!!

  8. Instead of paying much for travel fabreeze, i get trial size body spray in travel section for the bathroom. I stopped bringing hangers because steward will bring extra....hate the kind they have in the closet.

We used to do the 3M hooks with tape, then have to remember to disassemble....this time we brought the metal magnet hooks, they didn’t hold as much, but brought several so we could hang things to dry or for easy access

We bring something to put on our room door to find it easier!

Beach bag that doubles as a back pack from amazon . Way easier than needing to carry a bag!

My major tip is my fear of loosing my favorite special swim tops, dresses, things I cannot replace....so on the way there and back, things that are near and dear to me....okay 75% of outfits and shoes that currently fit and love, stay with me in my carry on and my backpack. Things that are apparel that if the airline or ship lose, goes in the check on bag!

Must always bring my ballerina flats from amazon, feet get tired dancing all night or if ankles swell....always

All possible OTC minatures, and my compression stockings because my feet don’t like traveling when ankles disappear ! Hard to take a lot of water pills when having to travel from Midwest.

Ipad for downloading comedy, because in airport delays or not well and stuck in cabin I can be entertained, Ship TV is now useless and we dont want wifi, want to disconnect. Ipad also has a bed time fan app. Hubby snores and white noise helps!

Ooops almost forgot my newest craze, not water proof mascara, BUT water resistant mascara! There is a big difference! Especially with beaches, snorkeling, pools and hot tubs abound.

Lastly for now, I get really bad neck issues, so I pack full size or my mini memory foam pillow depending on how long we are gone it really squishes down and lightweight ....with satin pillow case so hair doesn’t go haywire.

Great ideas. Can you please provide a link for the Amazon items you purchased?

  9. Hi Everyone.

Been lurking around this site for a few weeks now. Finally booked today.

7 Nights Eastern Caribbean on the Equinox - February 2019.

To say I am a little excited is an understatement.

Big 'Thank You' for all your amazing posts and for the cabin guide (wonderful). Picking the cruise was easy, the cabin selection was really daunting and without you all it would have been impossible.

I am sure I will have lots of questions before departure - being a 'Newbie' to cruising it is great that you are here.

163 days until I can check in.:)

Congratulations! The Equinox is a beautiful ship. What type of cabin did you decide on?

  10. Agreed! Those guys are super talented and it was mesmerizing to watch them work!! Tom talked a lot about his plans for after the ships because he did something like 17 contracts and has been on the ships since they started working with Corning. He is going to focus more on his own pieces and art shows now and he is very excited about the opportunity to move on in his career. I was just happy that I got to squeeze in one more cruise before they stopped having the Corning shows. It seems like there will still be a hot glass show with the new company, but not nearly as frequent as Corning did. I'm curious to see what people think of the new company and the opportunity to make your own glass pieces. Could be a fun activity to try out!

I’m sad to read that Corning will no longer be doing this! When does or did this happen? We will be on the Eclipse for the October 2019 Hawaii round trip cruise out of Los Angeles and was so looking forward to the hot glass shows. We were on the Equinox in March 2017 and watched them as often as we could. My husband will be so disappointed when I tell him.

  11. On Splendor on 2/3 they were in the mailbox when I boarded with the first group. The check in process was done by people with tablets scanning your boarding pass, and if you did the online check in properly, one was directed to the lounge.

Thank you. That’s the same process as it was on my Vista cruise.
