  1. Excuse me if this has been asked already (I am sure it has), but there has been so much going on. We have an August 13 booking for 4 ($1000 paid), and we have only paid the deposit so far. We are going to cancel and rebook one for next year.. I know we will have a new $1000 deposit we will put down.  The FCC from August 13 would be $1000 still right (no taxes or fees paid yet??)? Hope that makes sense.  I've read so many different things, I don't know anymore.  We didn't want to make final payment, and then have that money tied up as a FCC right now.

  2. Hey CC. Hope everyone is doing well out there. We  (me, hubs, and our 4 and 6 year old) are currently are scheduled to do a 9 night cruise on the Adventure in August out of Nj. We live in NJ, so trying to avoid flying.  I am am educator, but work a good chunk of summer.. so basically I am limited to Winter and Spring break, and beginning of August for vacation. Anyway, I'm thinking of rescheduling to the Spring Break cruise to the Bahamas on the Anthem. We have only done Voyager class, so not sure what to expect. The cruise itself will be $1500 cheaper, but also 2 nights less.  We have done same itineraries already, although I like the 9 night one better. I guess I'm just wondering about experiences with younger children on the Anthem - things to do, number of passengers etc.  We love the Adventure and found it to be a good size. My kids will be almost 5 and 7 for the Anthem cruise... I'm trying to figure this out now because our final payment is coming due in a few weeks for the August cruise. I'm wondering if cruises will be back by August, or if it would really be safe yet (especially going out of Bayonne). This is hard for me to consider, because we have had this booked for a year.. just trying to think ahead.  Any advice? I know I have to weigh pros and cons.. any info would be much appreciated. Thank you so much.

Any child 6 and up in the assigned room must purchase The Key

its the downside to the key.... my kids would never need internet or half the perks it comes with,.... so that’s why I can’t justify buying “4” keys for my family

Ugh really? My daughter turns 6 like a month before.. she's definitely not using the perks. Thanks!

I feel the same way, however I always tell people to work out the value for themselves.

For someone the drinks only beer, and will have say four on a sea day and two on a port day, it would probably be cheaper to pay as they go. That's assuming they are happy with the included non alcoholic beverages on board.

It also depends on the ports they are visiting. From what I read, at many of the ports in the Caribbean, people just get off the ship, taxi to a resort or bar somewhere and fill up on cheap drinks. If that's the case, then you possibly would want to drink much more when you get back aboard.

If you're visiting ports with lots of sightseeing and you've had a busy day doing a tour with limited opportunity to drink, you'll possibly want a few when you get back on the ship.

All very valid points! Well said.  It depends on the person.  Like said I am a beer drinker 90% of the time.. but it gets old and very filling on vacation, so I like to mix it up. Plus I love having something cold (besides beer) when at the pool. I like having the package so I can try different things and not worry about it.  Plus it works on Labadee and Coco Cay, so it is a win for me! 🙂

  5. I would definetly say go for it. It includes bottled water (4 bucks a pop), all kinds of alcohol, soft drinks, specialty coffee, and fresh squeezed juice. If you have a drink or 2 by the pool (daquiris are a must for us on vacay), 1 or 2 at dinner, and one out at night you use it. That's not including coffee or juice at breakfast / meals or bottled water. Drink of the day is like 12 bucks.. I am a beer drinker myself, but I love being able to just try as anything... if you don't like it, get something else! Plus you can always do virgins mixed drinks by the pool! Well worthy it IMO.

  6. Have a great time! The Adventure is an awesome ship. Lots of good tips already.. I would definetly check out the arcade for the kids, and mini golf! Cafe promenade is great for quick small meals or snacks. We sailed a similar itinerary (just Bermuda instead of St. Thomas) in 2013 and it was great.. before kids though so I  have nothing to offer. .. sailing again this summer with our kiddos.

I'd suggest getting a few pairs of sea bands off amazon to help for motion sickness.. they are cheap and work well (I still use for vertigo). I also brought a cheap over the door shoe organizer to keep everything organized.. this is a MUST IMO - esp w/ kids. Bring some Downey wrinkle release because you can't have an iron. We bought some cheap reusable water bottles to fill up, and just tossed them after the cruise. Definetly lanyards to keep sea passes. I also got some of the vacuum seal bags for packing.. was able to fit more in our suitcases this way (but don't do too much or they get heavy). Bring some ziploc bags also.

  7. Hello again CC.  Looking at the possibility of booking 2 connected promenade view on the Adventure for next year.  I love having a balcony, especially b/c we are traveling with kiddos that go to bed way earlier than us. 2 connecting promenade view rooms are 1000 bucks cheaper than a balcony. Hubs and I would have a place to hang when kids are asleep (we would usually sit on the balcony). Just looking for opinions for anyone that has stayed in them... especially with kiddos.

    Thanks as always!

  8. Hey CC! Looking at booking another trip on the Adventure next year.  There are a few Aft balcony rooms available.. they look so nice and spacious.. however, it looks like the railings are not window panel like they were on our deck 9 JS last year.  Would be going with a 4 and 6 yo... I would NEVER let them out there without us, but my son is all boy so I am nervous about them climbing. Anyone ever stayed in one of these with young kids?
