  1. That's right...the "free" kids have to be the 3rd and/or 4th in the cabin. So, your sister and niece would have their own cabin, and pay the normal rate for whatever category they get.

If you leave the niece in the cabin with you (and I'm not sure how you got 5 in one cabin!!!) your sister will still pay the DOUBLE occupancy rate, which is the per person cost X's 2!

Thanks. my youngest will be in pack and play.

  2. Good morning CC. Going on my 2nd cruise in August.. I' a total type A planner, so I've been asking a lot of questions and getting some great answers here.. so thank you so much for that!!!

I'm going in August on a 7 night with my husband and 2 young children. I called an added my 11 yo niece on while they still were running the kids sail free promo. So she has her own confirmation number, but is linked to our acct.

I'm trying to also convince my sister to come on the cruise as well.. maybe get a cheap interior cabin (she is in nursing school, so doesn' have a ton to spend)... but it' been a rough year and she is due for a nice vacation.. ok sorry I ramble.

Is it possible for her book a room, but switch my niece to her acct? If not, does she need to pay 2 person fee for a cabin no matter what? I feel like I read that somewhere. I was thinking of I could link my niece to her, then maybe that wouldn't matter? Any ideas? I hope that explanation makes sense. Thanks for any input. I' going to also try and call RC.. but last time I called to add my niece, they didn't seem to understand. Thanks again for any advice. :)

  3. Hi all. Is the Windjammer the only lunch open for Embarkment? I remember it being a mad house on the first day of my one and only cruise. I will be going with my young kiddos, so I'm a bit anxious about it. Is there anything else open? Sailing the AOS out of Cape Liberty. Also, can anyone refresh my memory as to if there is food available at Cape Liberty port? If not, are you allowed to bring snacks? I feel like I remember there being chips. Just don't want 2 hangry and impatient kiddos. Thanks!

  4. I'm glad you had a good time. We are in Port 12 to 9. I was thinking Magic Kingdom. My daughter is obsessed with all things Princess and Star Wars. Honestly I have not conduct research yet, but inwas told MK is where I should go for that stuff. Like I said, I've never been. My DD wants to see Cinderella's Castle in the worst way. :D

Which park would you visit? How long is the ship docked the day you are visiting?

We’ve done Disney World as a port excursion and really enjoyed it. In fact, we’re planning to do it again later this month. The key is setting expectations. As the other noted, you can’t get the FULL Disney experience, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time and feel like you got your money’s worth.

We did Epcot the first time and are doing Epcot again this time because it’s our favorite park. We briefly considered doing Magic Kingdom, but decided against it because we worried that we’d feel compelled to try to do everything, and we couldn’t do that in a one day visit. Plus there’s a special event going on in Epcot when we are there.

I suspect the smaller parks are more conducive to an excursion day than Magic Kingdom, but that’s just my opinion. But if you were set on MK, I think you could have a great time if you decided ahead of time that you were only going to do certain parts. Since you have little ones, you could go through Main Street and Fantasy land (including that Dumbo circus area) and *possibly* tomorrow land if there is time, and call it a day. That’s half the park and your kids wouldn’t even notice that you skipped the other half. Along the same lines, personally, I wouldn’t bother with a park hopper ticket because, again, it’s probably too much for a quick visit even if you were visiting two smaller parks.

When we go later this month we are renting a car rather than dealing with the RC excursion. We want the flexibility of driving straight to park (the RC transport takes you to MK and we’d have to monorail to Epcot), and the ability to leave when we want (the RC transport gets you back to port by 5, but our ship doesn’t leave until 9 pm). Also, the cost of renting a car was pretty close to the cost of two adults on the RC transport.

Park tickets vary based on which park you want to visit and the day. Visit the Disney world website and put in your day. It will give you the costs.

  5. Thank you everyone for the quick and honest advice! I'e never been to DW myself, and DH hasn' since he was a child. I have no idea what to expect. We are going to do a full Disney trip when the kids are a bit older, so I figured this would be a nice intro. My babies wouldn't tolerate more then 4 or 5 hours anyway. a price was 38 per person, 31 on sale. How much is it usually to get into the park?

  6. Hello CC. We will be stopping at Coco Cay on our cruise next summer. Are there things to do with younger kids (think 4 and 2)? Are we allowed to rent a cabana with kids? I've been to Labadee, but that was before we had children. Just thinking ahead b.c I know those cabanas fill up quickly. Thank you so much! :)

  7. Hi CC! Recently booked a 7 night on the Adventure next summer. Will be my 2nd cruise (first was 4 years ago prior to starting a family). Hubs and I are bringing our 2 peanuts with us this time. Will be 4.5 and 2.5. Any tips or recommendations? I've seen some things mentioned about child care on board. Not sure if I feel comfortable with that. Anyone who has used it.. what can you tell me about it? We are trying to get the grandparents to come with us, but in the event it doesn' work out, I was curious. I'm not leaving the ship without my babies.. it would more be to maybe catch a show or event one night. Thoughts? Will the kids be in the same room? Is it by age? I know nothing, so any info would be appreciated. I'm really nervous about even the thought of leaving my babies... just weighing options. Thank you!!

  8. Hi everyone! Just booked a cruise for my family for next August in the Adventure. We opted for a Junior Suite since we will have our kiddos this time. This is only my 2nd cruise, so please excuse me if this has been aaked... but what extra amenities does the Junior Suite have?

I saw some things like early boarding and departure, and some other amenities noted. But then I saw under the "concierge service" not available on Junior Suites. Anyone have any info? Thanks so much!
