  1. We did an Alaskan on HAL 2 years ago and will probably try them in the future.

Maybe it was specific to Alaskan cruise but I enjoyed the afternoon Happy Hour as well as the entertainment during happy hour. It was a single guitarist singing mainly songs from 60-80s.

I did think the room was better on rcl and the food was on par. I was a little disappointed with the specialty dining on hal (forgot name). I thought the food was good not great.

I read the link on the new carnival ship due out in a few years and would love to try it

I believe with all these changes at rcl I will cancel my rcl credit card and get something else as I don't believe loyalty is important to them as well as other corporations.

It is all about the bottom line.

  2. Someone correct me if I am wrong but if you are thinking of the wine flights at Vintages in order to try different wines, I believe I have heard that they are not included in the packages. Too bad really. Marilyn

Actually, I wasn't thinking of wine flights. Just trying many different wines. I think you are right though. I don't think flights are included in a package. Seems kind of silly.

  3. Many of the better wines are not offered by the glass.

really. That is surprising. I would love to purchase this beforehand (so I can pay it off before cruise), but now maybe I will wait or not get it at all.

I really enjoyed Vintages on the Oasis but might want to rethink the whole thing. I usually don't drink that much on cruises but this one our daughter wont be going and my wife has a special birthday!

  4. I am currently deciding which drink package to purchase. Basically will only be drinking a few beers and non alcoholic pina coladas. However I do planning on spending my fair share of time at vintages trying new wine selections.

Just wondering the prices of wine at Vintages. If most of the wines are in the $8 range I will go for that package. Depending upon how many of them are in the $12 range, I will change the package.

    thanks

  5. You can use your points for payment purpose or onboard credit.

I had the same problem. I book a 10 day cruise not from royal and then tried to use my 125k points for a free companion. I was told that I couldn't and that I was better off with the deal I received (it was cheaper than the bogo deal).

I did use 100k points for $1,000 off payment. It hasn't showed yet but I was told it would show closer to deadline.

  7. I am looking at the drink packages for an upcoming cruise and was curious if non alcoholic pina colada would classify as a non alcoholic cocktail under the Select package.

I believe that my wife who had the royal replenish package last year was able to get them but I know things change.

I am mainly interested in the Select package so I can try different wines. Most cruises I will only drink about 6 beers in a week. However on the last cruise I discovered Vintages and something tells me I will be spending some time in there on the upcoming cruise.
