  1. We found this on our cruise on Silhouette in May/June. It was half term so I thought that may have had something to do with it. So many times ended up going back to our balcony as nowhere to sit before dinner or after. OVC was always packed! It was hunt the table.
  2. Personally if you have never been you can’t beat Rome with all the history. However Barcelona has an added buzz and closer to the port. Have you thought of starting in one of the ports and finishing in the other? (I know not what you asked) and then can experience both of them? If so I’d start with Barcelona, less frantic imo and I think easier to get over the jet lag, then end the cruise with a few days in Rome.
  3. @Tampa Girl We used PK travel. Were excellent.
  4. Enjoy. Happy anniversary. Was onSilhoutte in June and loved her. Sad we’ve got Apex in exchange!
  5. We will be on Beyond in the 20th 🤞in a MCSuite. I’ll try and remember to post and to give an accurate account as to what I think. Silhouette In June was a bit of mess service wise, (Aqua) as it was U.K. half term, so absolutely packed to the rafters, but we still had a great cruise. If we couldn’t get a drink in one bar we just tried another or took back to our balcony. Cafe al bacio was awful but a lot of staff were sick. So excusable
  6. Dh got a blue chip offer on our last cruise for an inside. As we usually sail suites and it wasn’t a time we could go we passed. However if we get another offer and we can take it we will. Inside or not 😁 a cruise is a cruise!
  7. We also always stay at the Hotel des Artes - fabulous hotel.
  8. Eden was fantastic on Apex. Loved it. Booked it for Beyond in a couple of weeks and for Apex again next year. We also have a suite guarantee for Beyond - wasn’t a great deal more than SV for what you got. On Apex we’ve cancelled our CS and snagged an SV when it became available.
  9. My very first cruise on Celebrity Galaxy. Blew me away. Then Disney Wonder - just loved the art deco theme. Beautiful.
  10. Thank you @DaKahuna and @Cap_D I really like Paul Bembridge but hadn’t seen his latest video regarding Celebrity. I now have. So thank you I’ll look out for the travelling gamblers. Am on steroids at the moment and been awake since 2.30am it’s now 3.45 so May see if I can while away my time 😁
  11. I have a destroyed nerve in my inner ear. (Since 1988 & finally diagnosed 1992). I regularly do the Cooksey Cawthorne exercises but doesn’t always help on the sea hence the cinnnarizine. I also always take lemon and ginger tea with me and ask for a kettle in the room so I can make it myself as needed.
  12. Can you post a link to Gary Bembridge review if possible please as I can’t find anything.
  13. Well done. At some point Celebrity will need to start listening.
  14. I’m gluten free but not coeliac and have always been well catered for including in the OVC. I’ve eaten in most of the specialty restaurants and Blu and Luminae. Everyone has always been great and often I preorder the night before. I’ve also had gluten free lobster Thermidor in Luminae which was a pre order.
  15. I love the smoked salmon platter - they bring me to gluten free bread instead of the bagels.
  16. I have stugeron (cinnarizine) that I get on prescription due to a balance condition. However if I forget to add to my prescription order and need it desperately I can but OTC, if you are in the U.K. most pharmacies have it including boots.
  17. I’m on Beyond next week and was on Apex last October. Wasn’t overly keen on Apex if I’m honest but not enough to stop me sailing on her next June :)) Loved the restaurants, but there weren’t enough bar variety imo as there is say on the S class. And that’s with us using the retreat lounge. But it was fine. Not great but fine.
  18. I’m not keen on the E class if I’m honest. Been on Apex once and going again in June and on Beyond in October. Dh loves the E class.
  19. We went on Disney several years ago. Then we moved to Celebrity which is good but not as good. Also the service and buffet on Disney is superb. Also the embarkation lunches- fabulous. The dine around restaurants taking your servers with you is inspired. When we have grandchildren we will be back!
  20. We loved Blu on Silhouette in June. Preferred it to Luminae on Apex in many ways. We are on Beyond in a suite in 2 weeks and no menus (I’m just hoping for lobster roll in Luminae). Apex next year in an SV so I’ll be interested to try the 4 different restaurants and already have some speciality dining booked to shake it up a bit.
  21. We’ve booked a guarantee and have a MC suite. I’m interested in trying it as it was such a good deal. If I don’t hate it I may book it again if I get a good deal. I wouldn’t pay full price for any SS at the moment as I don’t trust Celebrity to change the conditions!
  22. Glad it’s not just me that takes wipes with me! We have 3 weeks at a time share in the U.K., my kids and their friends, have grown up knowing that every handle, (including window) light switches, remote controls, are wiped down before anything is put away. They even know that the hairdryer provided is to be sanitised!
  23. Can you imagine the furore if Celebrity carried on with the original itinerary and something happened to any of the passengers? Celebrity have been absolutely correct to change the itinerary to keep everyone safe. It’s a risk you take when you book a cruise that it may not end being the ports you originally thought you were getting.
