  1. Okay, so I'm going to sound like a completely bratty, ungrateful, and spoiled little child to some, but I am 14 and have been on two cruises, which I absolutely loved. The downside, those two cruises have gotten me addicted and I can not stop talking about, looking up, discovering new, etc. cruises and I am convinced that now is the time to cruise again. There will be no other big vacation this year, and this summer or this Christmas would be a perfect time to cruise. I have almost already rule out Christmas time because it is just way too expensive (1 cruise for the price of 2). So this summer is the ideal time for us. I have looked up numerous cruises and I believe I have found the "sweet spot" (The "Hopeful Cruise"). It's a cheap price if we book a 4J and we get to go to amazing ports we haven't been to before, ever. And to add on, it's out of Canaveral so that means we can drive there (Grandparents live 2 1/2 hours away) :).

I have found all of this out, and I am working on building the total cost for what it would be and am planning on comparing it to a land vacation for the same amount of time (8 Days).

But, in addition to this, how else can I convince my parents to go on a cruise? They say they are ready for another one but they REFUSE to book:mad:. I know they know they can't surprise me because I will check Carnival.com and see my cruises. Please help if you can.

Thank you a million times in advance.

  2. The Grandeur is 2500 CDN and the Pride is 2100 US or 2600 CDN, the Pride for 2016 goes to Nassau, Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay and Royal goes to Key West, PC, Nassau and Coco Coy. Both are 8 days. I've heard more good things about Grandeur. What're your thoughts on the two ships, are main factors when we book is price, food options, entertainment and activitys.

I would go with the Pride because, even if it is a little more expensive, you are getting a bigger ship with more amenities (Green Thunder Water slide, Indoor Pool on bad weather days, Guys Burger, etc.) Also, it depends on what stateroom class you are getting, if you are getting an interior, go with Graneur because they are bigger, unless you get a 4K(interior with french doors), which has a pseudo-balcony on it. And if you're getting a balcony, go with Pride because there are a lot more options to choose from. In the end, it's all about what cruising style you personally enjoy, if you prefer a more relaxed (throwing this term around loosely) style of cruising, go with Grandeur, but if you want your cruise to be action packed, go with the Pride.

  3. The porthole is nice because it's the same rice as the interior and you can use the extra $280 for something that's truly worth it to you (if you are going to spend it). But with the balcony, it's very nice to be able to go out whenever you want some privacy and just relax. IMHO, it's all about what you think is the most important factor in your trip, the balcony or the things you can get with the money you didn't spend on the balcony.

  4. While the aft-views are amazing and almost absolutely perfect in every single way, the cove balconies are amazing as well. If you don't use the extra space, it's a much better deal and also, they offer an amazing view at the wildlife and other things in the sea as well. There's also something special about being buried into the ship's hull, very peaceful an serene. I think it's alot about personal preference and whether or not you will get the full benefits of either stateroom.

  5. I am wondering how many of y'all members would like to see carnival go back to doing Europe cruises in 2017? I know that the Vista is going there for 2016, but that year will almost 100% not work out for us...

If they do decide to send ship(s) over to the med, which one(s) would you suggest are going over there? Also, would you book it?

IMHO, I think that they should send one or two conquest class ships to Europe because they have a lot of amenities and are relatively newer ships so that people would want to go on them, instead of sending a fantasy class ship...

  6. What changes are we talking about? Please explain….

The changes they're talking about are the "ship swaps" meaning that one ship will change it's homeport and another will take its place. For example, in 2016, the Vista is going to Miami and replacing the Breeze. The Breeze is moving to Galveston to replace the Magic, and the Magic is speculated to move to PC since the sunshine will be in NYC, Norfolk, and Charleston.

  7. To all you cruisaholics out there who have been dying to get the WCMC off of a carnival ship, have no fear! I have found a recipe (Taste Tested and Approved) that tastes the exact same as the one on the boat!

    Here it goes...

    Ingredients:

    4oz. semisweet chocolate

    1 stick of butter

    4 eggs (divided use)

    3 tablespoons sugar

    ¼ cup flour

    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 375

    2. Melt chocolate and butter in saucepan. Let cool for 10 minutes

    3. In a separate bowl, whisk 2 eggs with sugar

    4. Add flour to egg mixture, whisk

    5. Add last 2 eggs into combination

    6. Combine the egg and chocolate mixture

    7. Pour batter into individual ramekins

    8. Bake for 15-20 minutes (Interior will be melted)

    9. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream

I found this on carnival's instagram so it is the official recipe. Hope you enjoy!

  8. Maybe someone can help. I am sailing on the sunshine in June. I currently have an inside cabin ( spa cabin on deck 11). There's a sale going on, I can get a guarantee balcony cabin for the same price. Are there very many obstructed view balcony cabins on the sunshine? Any help would be much appreciated. Would you switch?? Thanks...,

If you want a regular balcony, good news. I just checked and saw that there were no obstructed view balconies on the ship. Or at least that i saw. So I'd say take the deal! Even though you wont get the spa amenities when you upgrade (probably), imho, a balcony is better than an interior any day.

  9. I did find it, but since we're doing our B2B next January 2016, it's not listed. They're just trying to get people to book summer sailings.

Ok, but that's good for me because I'm trying to convince my parents to go on a cruise over this summer or this Christmas. Most likely this ummer because it's cheaper that X-mas. Thank you for that info!

  10. Where did you find this sale? I'm not seeing anything.

    Thanks!

I searched "Carnival" in google and clicked on their website, not a subheading, and it should show up on the main page. If it's not showing up then, scroll to the bottom to "cruise deals" and it should be there.

  11. Looking at some cruises with Carnival, prices seem good of what i was looking at.

However I have read that some people said if you do another cruiseline and do Carnival afterwards, you dont appreciate as much.

I did a cruise last year with NCL, liked it. Would i be able to enjoy a Carnival one after doing NCL? thoughts of who gone back and forth as well?

Each cruise line has their own special way to make the cruise unique. With carnival, almost everything onboard is include and if it is not, there is a lot of info as to what costs money and what doesnt. Also, I think that (out of canaveral) carnival has a very good embarkation process. So, a cruise is goo if you want it to be good.

  12. I just went into Carnival's website & can't get it to load. The little circle just keeps going round & round.

That may just be you, i just checked on my computer and i was able to get right on to it, sorry for the troubles you're having.

  13. One of the few things that you shouldn't miss if you want to have a not-so-chaotic embarkation day is-- instead of going to the Lido Marketplace for lunch on the first day, go to Cucina Del Capitano. Many people (Including some of the staff) do not know about it's opening on that day.

  14. Hey all you lovely people at Cruise Critic! I am trying to start a cruise blog/ website and am in need of some help. I have tried WordPress but they do not work for me, it's confusing and if i wanted to delete my blog, I can't; believe me, I've tried. So I am coming to you for help. Do you have any suggestions on how to make a blog? Thank you in advance!

  15. I like, on the Fantasy-Class ships, Empress Deck and as far back as possible, nobody ever has to walk and the only thing above you is the dining room, which I never found to be loud at all. We had that on my Fascination cruise and were hoping to get get same on our last one, but settled for an ocean view because of the price.

  16. So my family is planning (by that I mean I'm trying to convince them) to go on a cruise over Christmas this year because it works perfectly with my school schedule. We would depart either the 26th or the 27th because we do not want to be on the boat on Christmas day. So we have some rules we need to follow. Number One, we must go on a ship that is bigger that the Fantasy-Class. This is because we have only sailed on this class of ship and we would like to see a new style of cruising, with more people. Second, the cruise must be 5+ days long because we thought that our 4-Day Bahamas Cruise was too short and that we needed more days. Third, we would need to go to new ports because the Bahamas has gotten a bit boring for us and we would also like to see more parts of the Caribbean. Our group could be sailing with up to 5 people in one stateroom, so that was a big factor in deciding it as well. Given this information, I have narrowed down the option to a few, but I need help from you guys to help me decide.

    Option #1: Carnival Breeze

    ~6 Day Western Caribbean

    ~Falmouth, Grand Cayman, Cozumel

    ~Dec. 27th - Jan 2nd

Pros: All New Ports, On Amazing Ship, Cheaper, Gets Back on 2nd (Day for Cushion), Leaves on 27th (Don't have to leave until 26th)

Cons: Need to fly (20 hour drive to Miami)

    Otion #2: Carnival Sunshine

    ~7 Day Eastern Caribbean

~Amber Cove, St. Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk

Pros: All New Ports, Goes to Amber Cove, On an Amazing Ship, Leaves on 27th (Don't have to leave until 26th), All Funship 2.0 Enhancements, Port Canaveral (Grandparents live 2 1/2 hours away)

Cons: Need to fly (Gets back on 3rd, need to be home by 4th), Expensive, Smaller Ship with lots of people

So my last post like this got deleted or misplaced and I can't see it. I'm sorry if I broke any of the rules, and if I did, could you specify which ones so I don't do them again? Thank you!

Which one should we book? I'm torn because they both have a water park, ropes course, and the sushi place, but the Breeze is moving to Galveston and this will be the only opportunity that I see to cruise on it, and the Sunshine is most-likely staying in Canaveral for a while. Thank you so much in advane! Happy Cruising!
