Wow. Just WOW!!! This is a big deal for a person with a physical disability.
You can’t just make do with a regular cabin. And most definitely should not have to spend time on hold to correct this move. To have it happen twice is inexcusable. Thanks for the heads up as I will be watching my bookings closely for a similar change.- 2

I’m running into this as well. We sail in January to the southern Caribbean and have found just one tour that I can use. Out of seven ports, only two are available without a ship tour. These are all new ports for us but it looks like we’ll be spending a lot of time on the ship, which isn’t all bad.

I’m not sure that the accessible cabins are designed for people with impaired sight. I may be wrong, but they are larger in size for wheelchairs to maneuver and have safety grab bars in the bathroom.

Why don’t you just use CVS and bypass the other facility? CVS is very reputable. You can be certain that the test is legitimate and the results will be as accurate as possible.

Don’t think the OP was freaking out. Just stating the facts as he/she experienced them. I live in Minnesota and would be a bit unnerved if a military jet did a flyover. Especially so if the captain didn’t clarify what had just happened. We all come to these events with varying levels of experience, expertise and tolerance.

Thank you. We’ll be on in January.

Airfare could be considerably higher if everything is cancelled. The cabin might be the least of the her problems.

Is it possible to adjust your breakfast and lunch times to accommodate a later dinner time? Is it a matter of spacing out your meals?

Thank you for the review.

This hotel looks like a nice property. Is this in a good location as far as a few attractions within easy walking distance? It’s my first time to London and I use a wheelchair, so my needs are a bit different from a typical visitor. Thank you

We were on Ovation a few years ago and I recall it being very wheelchair friendly. I particularly like the family/accessible dedicated bathrooms. You don’t need to go to the regular public restrooms, although they have nice facilities as well.

Delta has already peaked in the UK and cases are declining. Likely that will occur elsewhere.
However there are already 4 more mutations coming after Delta. In Los Angeles is appears there is a breakout of fast growing Epsilon and in other countries Zeta.
People don't seem to want to research the 3 most recent SARS viruses before Covid-19 and each one had a long series of mutations that followed. The difference then was it was neither political and media worthy.
Most people don't realize that 7.7 million people die per year in the USA (the 5-year average ending in 2018). North do they know that right now the Red Cross is desperately calling out because of an extreme increase in demand for blood and blood platelets. Hospitals are filled up with cancer and heart diseased critically ill patients. So many either were shut out from the hospitals and doctors or they were freighted. According to the Red Cross in the past 3 months there is a huge increase in critically ill patients that has nothing to do with Covid or Delta.
The media campaign to frighten people has been very successful. I am not discounting covid or Delta deaths, but merely pointing out there are far more people dying right now from non-covid illness.
Making some big assumptions regarding people’s interest in health issues. All these deaths from COVID or hastened by COVID are loved ones that quite possible died alone and were afraid. Then consider the patients admitted for other illness who were fighting to live or passed away all alone. The media didn’t hype it. The numbers and visuals did all the work.

We are on a June 2022 Mediterranean cruise. Cruise planner shows one excursion for Villefranche and one for Barcelona. Nothing for Italy, Lisbon or Gibraltar.I would like to see some more options through Royal, but it’s taking a while.

“And the bottom 1/3 of people will never adopt the tech.” It’s this type of language that creates division on CC. Words and intention matter even more when writing.

There are “feel good” stories and “horror” stories on all the cruise lines. I will continue to use itinerary and ship to select a cruise. Once we get past the COVID issues, customer service will be a useful marker.

As I recall, it was easy getting onto the tender, which seemed more like a ferry. The ramps at the port were steep in places and were quite extensive. My husband pushed me in a wheelchair. It is quite steep to get into the heart of town. We did a tour of Acadia National Park but the bus was kind of a school bus design and maybe wouldn’t have enough storage for two scooters, however there was some beautiful scenery. Also, we did a bus tour in Boston. It was through Shore Excursion Group and called Concord, Lexington. That was a fabulous tour. This was on Anthem of the Seas.

Welcome home. So glad you had a great trip. Alaska sounds like the perfect follow up cruise.

My name is Paula, and I am an overpacker. But seriously, I love having several options for my days and evenings. I pack a lot not for “just in case” scenarios but because I love my clothes and jewelry. It makes me happy to bring along my favorite items. I use blue as my base color. Many shades and so many bright colors to coordinate with. I also have a few black items that somehow manage to find their way into my wardrobe. I find it fun to dress up a little bit when cruising. Even when lounging around in the solarium playing cards with my DH.

Wow, what a nasty response, “if you want to live in fear…”. The OP didn’t give any indication that was the case. People have differing levels of risk tolerance. Responding to posts requires a careful use of words and phrasing. It also requires a level of maturity and empathy that is lacking on this forum.

one time Delta MADE us check in our backpacks. Standard student backpacks... They said they didn't have any space left in overhead compartments. I actually cried, because all of our medications and electronics for the cruise were in our backpacks - only the emergency items we couldn't cruise without if they got lost. The Delta agent then menacingly asked if I wanted to be taken off the flight, even though I wasn't even confrontational, just crying. After we sat in our seats, quite a few people walked in after us rolling standard carry-on suitcases... The irony of it all.
Another time Delta made us repack 2 suitcases, one of which was 49# and the other - 51". They made make them both 50#.
Other than that, we've never had problems with the luggage size. Once Spirit even let a 42# suitcase slide. They only allow a personal item as free carry-on, and they never had a problem with our backpack or woven shopping bag sizes.
Seems they could have allowed you to stow your backpack under the seat in front of you. I often do this so that I have easy access to my things.

Tracelets might work better because children can wear them. Typically children don’t have room cards.

Do you use one at home? The reason I’m asking is that there is quite the learning curve to master operation. All control is handled by a joystick on the left or right arm. A crowded cruise ship might not be the best place to first try a motorized wheelchair. The disabled forum may have some ideas and advice.

That 3-4 inch step up into the bathroom can be quite perilous. They are more concerned about Covid than broken bones and concussions.
