We only use TA for the initial booking to get the OBC. Pretty much handle everything else ourselves.

Could also try Frontier out of Trenton or Philly or Spirit out of Atlantic City.

29 more days until I leave work at 5 pm to drive to Baltimore the next day and board the Grandeur of the Seas the day after that for my First Cruise Ever!!!
:D

I do not look forward to this day. It means that my time on the Grandeur will almost be over.

It always seems to be random. We just bought the package at 20% off for our September cruise, but no discounts available for our January cruise besides the refreshment one. Keep checking.
-
Keep checking the cruise planner, they randomly go on sale all the time. Usually 20% off deluxe package, or 25% off internet and deluxe.
-
Depends on ship. Smaller classes have the Park Cafe instead of Cafe Promenade. Essentially the same food though. Make sure you try the roast beef sandwich.

On Oasis, the seas don't matter all that much anyway. Especially out of Florida at that time.

About time. Congrats!

Saw this thread and was wondering since I bought the deluxe drink package for my upcoming cruise if I wanted to purchase a bucket of beers to be able to take back to my stateroom to be able to enjoy a couple of cold ones without having to head to the bar constantly would I be able to?
I know I would not be able to buy one using my beverage package since your only allowed to buy one drink at a time but would they allow me to purchase one?
Yea they will let you, that is if they offer it on your sailing. They will charge full price.

This may be a dumb question, but here goes anyway. I've registered for C&A, but haven't actually taken the trip yet. I won't be gold until the 2nd trip, right?
Yes, the points actually dont get credited until about 2 weeks after your cruise, even if you hit the next tier mid cruise.
-
As a Gold member, the only real benefit is priority check-in in some ports. Some don't have it, but both in Miami and San Juan we were able to get right in, and in fact the Gold line was shorter than the Diamond line.

So which is true? Can't say I've ever gone looking for snorkel gear onboard but isn't it available at Adventure Ocean?I've seen ships sell snorkel gear, but I've never seen an RC ship rent snorkel gear.
Maybe this is what I saw and assumed they rented them rather than selling. There's usually a spot up on the pool deck.
-
The ship does provide towells, both for while aboard and off ship excursions. They usually scan your sea pass so make sure you return it or they charge for it.
Most ships do rent snorkel gear, and some excursions even have it included.
Passports are generally left on the ship in the safe. Most ports in the Caribbean do not require them. Your Sea Pass card acts as your ID, but some ports do require a photo ID.
The Adventure is a great ship, my favorite so far. Starting out in San Juan is also great because you are already deep in the Caribbean.

We did it a few years back. Was very expensive and very crowded. They split you up in several groups of about 15 or so to go in with the dolphins. While you waited there was a nice beach to sit on. Was only about 20 minutes with the dolphins, and they didnt let you take pictures. They had a staff photographer that did them all, and then they charged a huge amount afterwards for each one. The boat from St Martin was about an hour each way.
Was a very cool experience but I wouldnt do it again.

I have never seen it anywhere NEAR that cheap. Are you SURE of those figures?
We got one near that price (last year some time?) but it was for the old drink packages. It was right before they combined them, and we ended up getting upgraded to the Deluxe package. So we essentially paid 20% (or whatever it was) off the lowered tier alcohol package, but got the full Deluxe package.
-
Thank you both for your replies.
I think it does seem like the package would be good. I might just wait until I get on-board and see how I feel after the first day. I assume if I purchased the drinks package on-board, it shouldn't cost more?
Cheers.
Often times its discounted pre-cruise around 20%. Also, while on board if you purchase it while still in port they can also charge you sales tax if applicable.

Oh my gosh I hope my husband doesn't see this picture as it will be his new life mission to find this suit to wear :loudcry:
Haha, too late, I found it!
-
My experience has only been Boston and Florida ports where we have always been taxed on drinks before the ship leaves.
San Juan as well.
