  1. Saw this thread and was wondering since I bought the deluxe drink package for my upcoming cruise if I wanted to purchase a bucket of beers to be able to take back to my stateroom to be able to enjoy a couple of cold ones without having to head to the bar constantly would I be able to?

I know I would not be able to buy one using my beverage package since your only allowed to buy one drink at a time but would they allow me to purchase one?

Yea they will let you, that is if they offer it on your sailing. They will charge full price.

  2. The ship does provide towells, both for while aboard and off ship excursions. They usually scan your sea pass so make sure you return it or they charge for it.

Most ships do rent snorkel gear, and some excursions even have it included.

Passports are generally left on the ship in the safe. Most ports in the Caribbean do not require them. Your Sea Pass card acts as your ID, but some ports do require a photo ID.

The Adventure is a great ship, my favorite so far. Starting out in San Juan is also great because you are already deep in the Caribbean.

  3. We did it a few years back. Was very expensive and very crowded. They split you up in several groups of about 15 or so to go in with the dolphins. While you waited there was a nice beach to sit on. Was only about 20 minutes with the dolphins, and they didnt let you take pictures. They had a staff photographer that did them all, and then they charged a huge amount afterwards for each one. The boat from St Martin was about an hour each way.

Was a very cool experience but I wouldnt do it again.

  4. I have never seen it anywhere NEAR that cheap. Are you SURE of those figures?

We got one near that price (last year some time?) but it was for the old drink packages. It was right before they combined them, and we ended up getting upgraded to the Deluxe package. So we essentially paid 20% (or whatever it was) off the lowered tier alcohol package, but got the full Deluxe package.

  5. Thank you both for your replies.

I think it does seem like the package would be good. I might just wait until I get on-board and see how I feel after the first day. I assume if I purchased the drinks package on-board, it shouldn't cost more?

    Cheers.

Often times its discounted pre-cruise around 20%. Also, while on board if you purchase it while still in port they can also charge you sales tax if applicable.
