Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. But when you are onboard, you aren't using a credit card, are you? Isn't everything charged to your onboard account and then at the end of the cruise, the balance is charged to your CC then, right? If yes, would the available OBC be applied to the balance at that point (before charging your CC)?
  2. How does one "use your OBC" exactly? Do you have to tell someone or ??
  3. I used OBC to purchase slot tournament for an upcoming cruise. Is that all I will have to pay? Or do you have to pay more once you're in the casino? Celebrity Casino newbie here, so please explain in detail if you wouldn't mind. 🙂
  4. My husband (70) and I (67) will be visiting this summer for the first time. We don't smoke cannabis or cigarettes and can't stand the smell of both. Are there any coffeeshops we can visit where we won't have to smell these noxious fumes? 🙂
  5. Regardless of package, are you only able to order what is listed on the menu re cocktails?
  6. Will be in Amsterdam at the end of July 2023 and definitely want to do this. Any suggestions for time of day, name of good operator, etc.? Thank you!
  7. We just talked to our bank and they said that for security purposes, always enter your PIN instead of using tap so that your bank knows it is you using the card.
  8. This is the situation I am hoping to avoid.
  9. Yes, we have Anytime (Select) dining. Having 2 lines (rezzy and non-rezzy) would definitely make sense and make it obvious what to do. If there is only one line, I guess it can't hurt to just go to the front of it and inform them we're there for our reservation; otherwise, what's the point of having made the reservation in the first place?
  10. I'm wondering what the protocol is when you have a reservation for the MDR and when you arrive, there is already a line-up. Do you go to the front of the line and let them know you have a reservation and have arrived, or do you just go to the back of the line and wait until you get to the front to let them know you've arrived, which seems to make having the reservation useless, but I don't want people to think I'm being rude and butting in line.
  11. Thank you, kaisatsu! That is great information, plus the linked map! Yes, in Canada we use the chip/pin cards (I don't think the US does). Really looking forward to visiting the land of my peeps! (My mother's side is from Norway/Sweden.)
  12. Kaisatsu, thanks for the chart - it looks like we will be docked at FIL (Aug 2 - Apex). So Uber is a reliable safe way to get around? (We're both seniors and have never used it before.) We're interested in trying local cuisine in an unpretentious, friendly, casual atmosphere that's not too pricey. Is tipping a big thing in Norway? Do we need to carry much cash or can we get by with credit card?
  13. Our Oslo excursion ends at 4:30 pm and we'd like to have dinner there a little later. I assume the excursion drops us off at the ship, so is there anything within walking distance? Or if not, best way to get there? Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you!
