Specialty restaurants

Good afternoon

I just went online to book specialty restaurants for our cruise in the Apex.  It says there is a cancellation charge, but no explanation. Does anyone know what the cancellation is and if it friends on how far in advance we cancel?

also, I’m assuming OBC can be used for this?  We have a large OBC and are already getting “free” wifi, drink package and gratuities.

thanks

Probably relates to a NO SHOW penalty if you miss your reservation. We have reserved dining in the past and cancelled the day of the reservation with no issues. We are normally just moving the reservation but I've never heard of anyone being charged a cancellation fee.

Use your OBC but pay close attention when you come to the payment page.

There has been a stated cancellation fee but that usually is enforced on no shows.

How does one "use your OBC" exactly? Do you have to tell someone or ??

Right before you pay, there is a tab showing you how much OBC you have and the amount to apply if you wish to use OBC for the reservation.

From there, the reservation is confirmed for the date and time of your reservation in your cruise planner.

If you want to use OBC be sure to enter the total amount with the gratuity.  That amount is near the bottom of the payment screen. Some see the amount due before gratuity and enter that on the OBC line only to find their credit card got charged for the gratuity.

But when you are onboard, you aren't using a credit card, are you? Isn't everything charged to your onboard account and then at the end of the cruise, the balance is charged to your CC then, right? If yes, would the available OBC be applied to the balance at that point (before charging your CC)?

Yes, onboard everythng is charged to your onboard account. Joan was referring to pre-purchasing your dining through your cruise planner, which can net discounts for the first night or for multi-meal packages.
