  1. I do realize this. It was a statement of observation in context to the dialogue that the summer sale was not published pricing on the website….and therefore, the current published pricing may also not be the pricing available that requires a call to TA or O.
  2. I understand after reading that a few times, but it is not available to all as in the ability to bring alcohol on board facts.
  3. Not sure about free gratuities. We do not have this from SM or summer sale. Years back HAL allowed unlimited wine etc brought on board. Viking always has allowed. Both with corkage fees if brought to restaurant - well worth it for a good bottle. Seabourn allows.
  4. We had to call our Agent for the summer sale. Our pricing was not what was on the website, and that was not including TA rebate. Our sailing is listed on the new upgrade sale. Our cabin category shows on this new sale higher than we paid….sent a note to our TA.
  5. Thank you Hank. We have not used this group before, but have read about them all over the boards. It might be the way to go given the port…I appreciate this reminder
  6. I also recommend getting away from Sarande. We made the mistake of deciding to walk the town. It was not a place to do this. The begging was very disheartening and everywhere. I am glad to learn of these options should we ever again find ourselves on an itinerary that includes this port.
  7. I revised my first response in an attempt to be more clear. My cruise is not until next Spring. Sorry for making this confusing. I guess I will just be patient and wait until this all becomes more clear!
  8. I appreciate your answer and am not disputing it. My question was if anyone were to book on this new Labor Day sale, would the deposit be available to to be transferred once as it was in the past without penalty with the new cancellation policy. To johnthomas point, would be a new date on a rebooked cruise with the Labor Day Sale, fall under the new cancellation policy with a non refundable deposit.
  9. I wasn’t clear with this question. Moving forward, will O allow you to change a booking one time on bookings post Sept 1, without penalty?
  10. Do we know for sure that you will be unable to do this with the new policy?
  11. It changed on us in Kotor from original port space. Port authorities can do this sometimes and the captain has no choice.
  12. In May we were also at Kotor….Viking docked, we were on SB and tendered, but their tender process is smooth, quick, and impressive. We tendered a lot and it removed my worries about tendering with them.
  13. The one thing that interests me is the spa deck, but having never experienced it, I have no idea. But I tend to agree so thanks for the feedback
  14. Viking used to have pricing much closer to O than now. It has steeply gone up post Covid to the point that I can, and did, sail on SB for a lot less this year. They have pretty much lost a loyal customer in us. Our sweet spot is 11-14 day itineraries, with 14 now being our favorite due to animals at home. It is difficult to find a straight 14 day itinerary on Oceania, and even SB that are not B2B. Viking does offer several, and I wish others would as well.
  15. Damn auto correct. SITA bus. Local transportation along the Amalfi Coast. We used it extensively when we spent time on a land trip. sofa bus does sound much nicer though!!
  16. If you had a B3 with extended balcony booked, would you take an upgrade to A3 if it were available? We originally booked Concierge, but after several of you explained the extended balconies in a thread a while back, I bumped us back down.
  17. Was thinking this is as well. It sounds as if the top suites can board tenders whenever they want, but not necessarily others until after excursions. Others have not experienced this, so maybe it’s random, and what I did read can occur. Idk
  18. Thank you for this great advice. We have used public ferries on a couple port stops, and several times on a land trip. We love Capri - well, the entire area. This time we are thinking Positano and can grab a sofa bus of all else fails. Looking forward to seeing this beautiful area again!
  19. I also recommend getting away from Sarande. We made the mistake of deciding to walk the town. It was not a place to do this. The begging was very disheartening and everywhere. There really is nothing whatsoever to do or see. Cruisemom42 always has great ideas!
  20. 100% agree with you in our current climate of choices! Actually, has been for some time now, but it was a good chapter.
  21. Awesome. Thanks. We want to disembark in Sorrento early and catch a ferry independently. Appreciate this added advice.
  22. There is truth in that, but we have zero regrets with our experiences on Viking. We truly enjoyed our travels on them. The ports we visited, and the memories we created are tinged without any negativity whatsoever. . . It was just time to open our lenses for different.
  23. Really good to know. So it is first come, first serve after excursions? We only have a couple tender ports, and whatever the protocol is, well, it is. It just helps to know ahead so I appreciate all your input
  24. Good to know. Read on another board from someone who has sailed Oceania and other lines. I am glad to hear this. Thank you both.
