Last month at Port Canaveral for a MSC cruise I had my power strip confiscated by terminal security. They gave me a receipt and told me there would be a table after Customs upon my return to the port where I could retrieve it. In reality, my room stewardess returned it to me on the last evening of the cruise. That was my 10th cruise with MSC and the first time any confiscation had ever happened.

Power strips with surge protectors are not allowed.

  2. We are on the SInfonia Nov 18 sailing from Haifa and have been monitoring the MSC Israel web site that has been providing updates (click on the Union Jack to read the site in English if you do not read Hebrew).
With all cruises now cancelled from Haifa until the end of October we called MSC USA to ask what our options are.
They said we have to wait until the cruise is cancelled before making any changes, but the options would be the same as what is being offered for the cancelled cruises to end of October.
    1. Full Refund to original form of payment
    2. Future Cruise Credit for full amount paid

    3. Move to a different departure port

    4. Move to a different sailing

We again asked if they could offer us #3 now and after checking with Supervisor we were told that we had to wait until officially cancelled.

According to the most recent MSC Voyager Club Terms & Conditions (as of 28 April 2022) Gold/Diamond get 10% discount on Internet packages and Silver/Gold/Diamond get a discount on Laundry packages.  From anyone actual experience, is this on pre-cruise or on-board purchase or both?  If pre-cruise, how do you book with this extra discount?  The package prices for my cruise are listed as the same cost before I added my status Voyager Club number to the booking and after….

Sandy, did you ever figure this out?

    I have the same question.

Out of curiosity, when have you heard from MSC on any upgrades on cabin on your cruise?

Haven't received anything either. I wonder if maybe they are not sending them to us Canadians?

There is no iced coffee onboard; you'd have to get coffee and pour it over ice yourself.

People make their ghetto drinks in the Buffet at the drink stations. Get plastic glass, add ice, sugar or sweetner, add coffee, add milk - instant iced drink!

Note, for MSC, you have to "turn on" the switch that let's you get advertising emails...I don't think you'll get a bid offer without that.

Which box (see pic) needs to be checked in order to get the YC upgrade  offer emails?

If my understanding is correct, if you cancelled "All In" or "Memorial Day Sale" and then did "Free Balcony Upgrade" as a new booking, under a new booking number, there would not be a change charge assessed (but of course, other penalties could apply).

    Except if you're in Bella.

Bella always pays a change fee.

Just like the response above re Alaska: since there are no open jaw sailings between two different US ports sold in Alaska either, what the heck was the point there.

Actually, at the end of the Alaska season, people like/try to do Whittier to Vancouver immediately followed by the one-night Vancouver to Seattle (or 2 night Vancouver to SFO or 3 night Vancouver to LA) - to avoid the high cost of flying out of Vancouver. Doing this is considered a one way voyage (Whittier to SEA, SFO or LA) and is not allowed under the PSA as Vancouver (or Victoria) is not considered a Distant Foreign Port.

  9. so looking at the prices currently for the Thermal Pass it is $90 pp purchased in advance on my cruise. But there is also a package for $129 that includes this, plus a 30 min massage and a facial...much better value.

Any idea the price of a 30 min massage or facial, in order to put the price of this package into perspective?

  10. Yes

At the slots just insert your cruise card and the amount selected will be charged to your on board account. At the tables just provide the dealer with your cruise card to purchase chips and again the charge will be posted to your on board account.

No surcharge to have your casino play charged to your on board account.

Just a note you don't specifically designate OBC. The charge is just posted to your on board account like any other on board charge.

Is there still the 3% charge to get cash at the casino cage, charged to your onboard account?

  11. The cruise hasn't been cancelled; the ship has been chartered. And the charter is open to the public.

Just re-book through one of the specific travel agents selling the cruise. It is not sold out, they are just not publicly advertising the price. You would need to call the TA to book. Follow the link above.
