And at 250 points, don't you just receive a photo album or something similar?

When will it be implemented on the Gem?

Thanks everybody for your help!
I will call CAS before my January cruise!!! None of this is whether or not I agreed with anything....it was simply that I didn't understand the system and the Casino Host wasn't at all helpful with helping me understand it. It just seemed as though what I was being told contradicted my understanding of the letter in my cabin.
-
Thanks! Good advice! I never thought of calling CAS before I board! The Casino Host was like "this is what it is....get over it"! I still didn't understand what she was talking about but decided not to upset myself on vacation.

I was on one cruise between April 2014-January 2015. However, on the cruise in Jan. 2015, I earned in excess of 5,000 points (HOT). So, wouldn't that stay with me until 2016?
-
So very sad! A "reward" to Platinum cruisers???? I think not.

Is there anyone who has knowledge of the CAS tier leveling status?
I've booked with CAS for years. Each time I board the ship, I have "HOT" Status. This past October, I boarded the ship as "LUCKY" (the lowest tier level). My prior cruise was in January when I was only 4,000 points away from "GOLDEN". When I questioned it, I was told that all points revert to zero on April 1st.
However, the letter in my cabin stated as follows:
"All earned points from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015 determine the tier level status of each player but will not count towards tier elevation. This determined tier level status will stay with the player until the next evaluation date of March 31, 2016. Players must earn the total required reward points of the next tier level between April 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016 in order to receive the status upgrade. (Example: A HOT Player must earn 15,000 points from April 1-March 31 in order to elevate to Golden).
I didn't expect that I would be elevated to Golden; however, I did expect to remain at the "HOT" Level.
Can anyone help with the explanation?

Used to include a full meal at LaCucina, LeBistro or Moderno. I'm hearing now that Moderno is no longer included. Also hearing you are limited to a starter, entree and dessert. Also hearing the free bottle of wine is no longer included. This is what I'm reading on the boards.

On my recent Gem cruise, for the first time in years, I wasn't given a CAS comped dinner! Was quite surprised! Was on the Breakaway in January with only needing 4,000 to become Golden. Boarded the Gem in October as "Lucky". When I questioned it, they said all points reset on April 1st.

And, the Platinum benefits are beginning to be watered down anyway.

I was referring to an outdoor smoking area being unclean!
-
Motley's point being....until the changes affect you and what you don't like, the changes are good. Once they affect you in any way, there is outcry!
-
I simply stated a fact that the designated smoking area is not kept clean! Why does this necessitate a battle over smoking/non-smoking areas? I wasn't looking for any kind of debate! It is about an area of the ship that was not clean! I also included the boots left under my bed....had nothing to do with smoking!!!!
-
When did the free bottle of wine stop? I just got one 3 weeks ago!
-
It wasn't at all comfortable on the Dawn.
-
I would stay near the port the night before the cruise. Too many things could go wrong.
-
Personally I don't eat the upcharge items. However, I think the point is that the MDR has always been included in the cruise fare. I would rather see them remove the items altogether rather than starting to see charges in the MDR.
-
REALLY????!!!!!
How about the boots under the bed? Will that make us stop wearing shoes????
-
Spotless ships? Then somebody needs to remove the pair of boots I found under my bed on my recent cruise. I don't know how long they were there. Going back in January and will be in the same cabin....curious if they are still there!
Was on the Breakaway in January 2015. The designated smoking area in the glass enclosure was always dirty.
-
Are they now charging in the MDR???
-
Wish you well cruising with your baby! No doubt you will do just fine!
Please don't take offense at this as it is not intended:
I was recently on the Gem. Every night in the MDR, there was a baby screaming at the top of their lungs during every meal. Unfortunately the parents completely ignored the comfort of other guests and kept the baby in the dining room until their meal was finished. Just please be courteous of the other guests.
However, since you are already posting questions, you sound like the type of parents who are mindful of your baby's needs! Thanks in advance!

Demonytye, I am just so fired up tonight after this announcement with no notification! And I probably will cool off and tip the staff. I am just at a complete loss as to how a contract can be changed! Granted the difference is $5.50pp for the cruise but it is the principle.
What is to stop NCL in the future from changing the price of the cruise after a reservation is made?
-
Thanks! I just went on my Vacation Summary and it gives me the option to prepay the $13.50 per day!!!! I'm not interested in fighting the battle on the cruise nor doing any kind of paperwork when I return. This is supposed to be my vacation. I have the UBP but always tip extra even though I prepaid the UBP gratuities. Unfortunately, I will not be tipping any additional. I apologize to the staff in advance; however, NCL is going too far....how can one have a contract in June and NCL changes it in October with no notification???? Mr. DelRio just needs to raise the cruise prices by $50pp per cruise and stop his nonsense.

Do they offer kid's menus? If so, I'd ask for one if I didn't see anything I liked. Does anyone know what is on the kid's menu?
