Is it possible to get a cab at the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral?? I know its a pretty good distance...how much is the fare ?? I want to come in a day or 2 before so I wont be taking the rcl shuttle:confused:

They have Shuttle Services that can take you from the airport to the hotels at Port Canaveral a lot cheaper than a cab. ;)

One of them is the Cocoa Beach Shuttle. We were very happy with them.

Go here to this thread, "I work in Port Canaveral". Go to the last page on it and ask questions of them. They were where I got all my information when I cruised from there and they are a big help in answering all questions.

We stayed at the Radisson and were very pleased there. We also rented a Hertz right down the street from the hotel to tour.

Estimated cab fare for Orlando International to Port Canaveral is ~$160. There is a taxi fare approximator at http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?city=Orlando. Cabs in Orlando tend to run towards the expensive. :-(

I second the recommendation for Cocoa Beach Shuttle! Great prices and great service!!

We got a decent rate from budget. You can pick the car up in Orlando and return to the port the next morning. Their discount code is BCD W810011. We arriving a day also for our trip and wanted to be able to explore the port and Cocoa Beach. Good luck you may have to keep trying to get a good rate.

If you're going to be there a couple days get a rental.

It's at LEAST, a 45 min. drive, unless there are traffic back-ups, then it will take longer! You don't want to use a cab!!!!

I too vote for a rental. Hertz, Budget, and Avis is all right there in the Cocoa/Canaveral area. Personally we use Budget because of their friendliness and promptness.
