Orlando question...

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the various Ron Jon free pkgs for viewing a 90 min timeshare presentation??

We're looking at the free 3 night precruise stay, with free shuttles from/to airport and hotel and port.

Here's the link...http://freeforcruisers.com/index/index/6

Thanks!

be careful...be very very careful!

These "90 minutes, will probably last all day...or at least 1/2 a day.

We fell into one of these in Vegas..VERY hard sell...They REALLY don't want to take NO for an answer and will try various different sales approaches.

That said...we did get the promised Casino Vouchers & lunch for sitting through the presentation. So, we didn't exaclty get 'scammed'...but there wasn't much at stake that they were giving away.

If you have nothing to lose...I'd say give it a try.

Yes...we did one of these Ron Jon packages last month before our Disney cruise. It was just the two of us (left teenagers at home!) Was a little skeptical because offer looked to good to be true...but always looking for a deal! Turned out to be a great deal. We only stayed 1 night. The timeshare tour was fine. My concern was they were going to keep us too long...Nope, we were at the terminal waiting to board by 11:30 AM

It's not all free...you still have to pay for the hotel tax (cost us $11) but that's it.

Hope that helps.

A friend of mine took his kids along to a presentation and told them ahead of time that it would be OK to misbehave after the allotted time had passed... :)

Too funny!

We did a timeshare presentation in Charleston, SC once. NEVER AGAIN! The '90 minute' presentation chewed up the better part of a day. It was an historic building condo conversion and for our participation we were promised some Charleston freebies (horse carriage ride, some free admissions to plantations, etc.) We were taken on a tour of a few floor plans. The salesman started out friendly and then got aggressive and then just rude. We made our exit as fast as we could, but wanted those freebies so didn't want to just walk out too early in the game.

In retrospect, the $50 dollars or so of free admissions wasn't worth it. We'd rather of had the time back that we wasted. Having said that, I know nothing about the Ron Jon deal.

I cannot believe that in this day and age people actually think theyre going to get something for nothing...Seriously you really think your gonna get a 3 night stay in a hotel for nothing:confused:

We would all be doing it if that was the case...When are people going to get the message aout timeshare?

Tis a true saying 'If it sounds to good to be true...It probably is'...

I'll bet the OP gives it a go though as he'd always be wondering...Come back and let us know, honestly...

LOL...I just noticed that this CC board has an advertisement link for it at the top of the page.

The way it's supposed to work, and yes, I've had bad experience with time shares years ago. Although I met a couple on a cruise that do them all the time.

The credit card is to cover taxes and incedentals. The transfers are paid for in an instant cash rebate after having viewed the tour.

I'm hoping I get more folks who have done this particular one..Thanks for the info:)

Hi,

I think timeshares are generally a bad deal. However, the Ron Jon property you are probably going to is Cape Caribe (you will want to verify that). It is an exceptional place. How do I know? I live right next door...lol.

Cape Caribe has nice facilities, a lazy river / big pool, a killer beach the equal of any you will see on your cruise, and it is right at the entrance to Port Canaveral.

Here is their website:

And here is their webcam that is just up the beach from my own balcony. I use this view to combat homesickness when I travel!

Hope this helps, but remember they need your credit card to establish you as someone who could qualify to purchase a "week". It's a sales pitch. They are rolling the dice that you are a prospect, not trying to be nice.

But, with that said, I've heard from folks staying there that they enjoy it, and have heard very few complaints. So, perhaps it's not a bad deal at all if you get housing and a shuttle out of it.

Regards,

Johncn
