I'm hosting the Meet & Greet on our cruise in April. However; I was talking with another cc and we have some ideas. I wanted to know how do you arrange for a slot pull. I don't gamble but what the hey. Thanks for any advice or assistance. Were leaving in 5weeks.

We just told everyone that wanted to participate to meet there at a certain time. We had those bracelets you get for paying cover at a bar some times and gave everyone one when they paid their $15. We then loaded up the slot machine with all the money and then drew an x on the bracelet once they did there spins. Once everyone had gone, we divided the money up to the nearest whole dollar and that was that. The person with the highest single jackpot got the remainder. Otherwise, just make sure to tell the casino host ahead of time and have fun!

I contacted the Casino Manager to let them know when we wanted to have our slot pull. They reserved a Wheel of Fortune slot machine for us. (You can skip this step and just show up - but we were given 2 bottle of champagne for the two highest winners so it was worth it.) I had a spreadsheet with everyone that was going to participate names and cabin numbers. I marked each person paid as they put their money into the machine....we played $21 each - 7 pulls playing 3 lines at a time. I marked on the sheet as each person took turns making their pulls. I marked down any "wins" so we would know who the highest winner was. After everyone was done with their 7 pulls we voted to keep going instead of cashing in. Each time everyone got a turn we voted again. At the end the winnings were split with all involved with the odd winnings going to the person with the biggest win. After you are done, contact the casino manager to let them know you are done and they get the champagne from the bar and present it.

here are the rules for the slot pull on my upcoming awesome 21 day cruise/vegas get away :p

i hope this helps :)

SLOT PULL RULES

1. We'll meet on the 6th deck starboard entrance to the Stardust Theatre after the Meet and Greet. All fees will be collected at sign-in at the Meet and Greet.

2. The entrance fee is $20 per person. ($15 goes into the machine and $5 is put in a prize pot award for the person who gets the largest amount on a single pull). This gives everyone two possible ways to win money. Pot will be split if there are multiple high pulls.

3. We will use one of the Wheel of Fortune slot machines.

4. We play the maximum bet on the machine ($3.00).

5. Everyone gets 5 pulls.

6. All slot money will be put into the machine before the first pull.

7. Once the first pull is taken, no one else can join in and the game is closed. Once the last person has taken their turn, the slot pull is over.

8. Participation will be in order of sign up. If you are "not" there when it's your turn, you will be moved to the bottom of the list. You must play to win or designate your partner to play for you. If, however, you are not there at the conclusion of play and distribution of winnings, you will forfeit all winnings. In other words, you may designate someone to pull for you but you must be present to collect winnings.

9. A designated person will check names off the list and they will record the amount of all of the pulls.

10. The winnings will be distributed equally, except that they will be rounded down to the nearest dollar. The person who organizes the slot pull gets the left over change.

11. In the lovely event of a Jackpot, monies will be evenly divided by the number of participants present.

12. One person will need to go to the casino cashier to break down the money, so we have the right bills to pay everyone out.

13. Remember, this is a fun event to maybe gain a few dollars and enjoy the company of others in your group. Encourage everyone to cheer on the slot pullers and mingle with others in the group.

14. We will meet at the same area where we started (outside of the Theater) at the conclusion of play to distribute the winnings and award the money for the single largest pull. This so that we don't clog up the machine.

When we did our slot pull after the M & G (about 12 noon 1st sea day) we pretty much had the casino to ourselves. I would not be concerned about clogging up anything if your cruise is anything like ours.

Btw we had a blast and all walked away about $15 richer and got a comped drink from the casino manager!

Definitely contact the Casino Host beforehand and explain what you want to do. They have been very accomodating for the 2 pulls I have hosted, providing us with T-shirts for the winners and free drinks for all. It helps if the person contacting the host is a rated CAS member, the host will have that person on thier VIP list.

Ron, where were our free drinks???? We didn't get anything on the Epic. Don't remember the winner getting a T-shirt either.

thank you all for the great info. I am working on a meet and mingle for my cruise and wanted to know how to organize a slot pull as well.

To the OP and pkt, don't take on all the responsibility for everything. You are in charge of the M&G so delegate the slot pull. We did that for our sailing, someone did the M&G I did the slot pull someone took on the gift exchange. Makes life nicer for everyone because you're not stuck doing all the work for all the activities. (my 2cents)

Well....we were the first group ever on the SUN with that casino manager and it was almost a no go as they had no idea what we were proposing. So we all lost 1/3 of our buy in and walked away with no extras at all. So not all slot pulls are created equal. :D

I agree with the advice to delegate. On my cruise we had a m&g, a cabin crawl and the slot pull. Someone different was responsible for each.

I arranged the slot pull and kept it pretty simple - it was 15$ to play, loaded the machine and took turns pulling. I contacted the casino host or manager earlier that day to let them know what we planned, and they arrange for a casino guy to be there to help load the machine, get the payout into equal amounts etc. We didn't get any special stuff, but did have a blast yelling "wheel of fortune". We ended up a little ahead, and agreed to tip the casino guy a bit as well.

The one point that the casino manager warned me about was agreeing who was going to "claim" the winnings in case we won big due to the tax implications. My understanding is that one person would have to claim it, it could not be split.

I seem to be in charge of the slot pull on the November 10th sailing of the Epic. It's going to be great fun, I'm sure... even though I have no clue what I'm doing. XD

Is there a way to contact the casino people prior to the cruise or do you just contact them once you're on board? Just asking, 'cause it seems like it would be easier to let everyone know ahead of time what day/time the pull will be, just in case they have reservations/plans, etc. Seems like it wouldn't really work out if we just wait until we're on the boat and then try to come up with a day/time that works for everyone?

Any advice for that?

You don't need to contact them ahead of time. Just decide on your rollcall what day and time will work and you can talk to the Casino Manager once you are board. If you talk to the casino manager before the Meet and Greet you can finalze the arrangements and let everyone know for sure at the M&G.

Hi Linda - they didn't give us any free drinks on our Epic pull, but they did last October on Dawn. We did get 3 T-shirts, I gave them to the top 3 winners, which #1 and #2 just happened to be Jane and I! I think we ended up winning about $2 on the Epic, on the Dawn we lost about $5 each..

For anyone running a pull, ASK the Casino host for some t-shirts to give away, they have a big stock of them they use for the slot tournaments.
