Accessible cabins on Carnival Vista

Having read on cruiseshipdeckplan site that there are 35 wheelchair accessible cabins on Vista I looked on the Carnival deck plans to find their locations.

I was only able to find 15, 13 for 2 guests & 2 for 3 guests. As it is my oldest daughter who is in a wheelchair we were obviously looking for a family room.

Emailed Carnival and received a laughable reply stating there was one suite (7378) & 2 cabins (6207 & 6208). So Carnival state there is only 3 wheelchair accessible cabins out of 1823 cabins. Yeah right!!

I have emailed Carnival special needs but based on the above answer & past experience I'm not expectant of getting a sensible reply. Is there anyone out there who can shed some light on this for me?

Carnival Ships have both Fully Accessible and Modified Accessible cabins . The count of 35 accessible cabins takes into consideration both types. Since your daughter is in a wheelchair a Fully Accessible Cabin is needed thereby greatly reducing the number of cabins available. Very few accessible cabins can accommodate a 3rd person even further reducing the number of Fully Accessible cabins available for your consideration. It appears that Carnival's response stated only the Fully Accessible Cabins that could accommodate 3 in the category of you inquired about.

Thanks for the replies, the cabins given by special needs department only accomodate 2 guests even the suite, by checking the Carnival deck plans I was able to find only 2 cabins out of 15 that hold 3 guests (2491 & 2476).

However I had originally asked for a full list of accessible cabins with no details of numbers in order to give ourselves a wide choice of options. For instance could we get adjoining or connecting or preferably a suite.

Which ever way you hack it the response was poor and totally contradictory to info posted on their own website, which is itself different to details released to the cruise press. Having been told to ring Guest Access Services it's difficult to have much confidence when special needs services don't seem to know what is on the ship.

Perhaps your not understanding that not all categories will have an accessible cabin. Also that very few cabins will accommodate 3. It appears that perhaps the category you're looking for does not have accessible cabins. Also the deck plans denotes connecting cabins.

I am aware of the restrictions in cabin categories which is exactly why I asked for a list of all accessible cabins irrespective of category, location and size. No mention was made of the number of guests. I was therefore expecting a definitive list from which I could make an informed decision on the best location.

My daughter has travelled with us on all of our cruises and both Disney & RCCL have always been very helpful with pre-cruise planning. The one company we've found not to be so is Carnival and nothing appears to have changed in the intervening years. Fortunately once on board all Carnival ship staff have been great which is why we are happy to sail with them again.

Is it me or is it too much to ask that I be given correct information to allow me to choose the best possible location for our cabin especially as it is going to be a greatly reduced choice to everyone else.
