roohound Posted August 20, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 20, 2004 Barry White didn't do the Love Boat theme. He, along with the Love Unlimited Orchestra, did "Love's Theme" which may be what you're thinking :) I think Jack Jones did the Love Boat theme

teedee Posted August 21, 2004 #12 Share Posted August 21, 2004 Don't know if I can come up with 10, but let's see Havana Daydreaming - Jimmy Buffett I Can See Clearly Now - Johnny Nash Montego Bay - Bobby Bloom (not sure if that name is right) Three Little Birds - Bob Marley In The Summertime - Mungo Jerry Sailing To Paradise - Pablo Cruise Banana Boat Song (Day-O) - Harry Belafonte Barbados - Poco Yellowbird - Many artists, pick one! I like Arthur Lyman Red, Red Wine - UB 40 OK, that was much easier than I thought it would be, the hard part was narrowing it down to 10! jemingway Posted August 21, 2004 #13 Share Posted August 21, 2004 I had 7 CDs full of cruise music so far and I'm working on #8. Each has about 75 minutes of music, so there is plenty out there(if you stretch it a bit:D ).
RvrCrzr Posted August 21, 2004 #14 Share Posted August 21, 2004 I like Host Kristi's list! (except the Ketchup song) I'd have to replace it with I think it's called, Dollar Wine. ("Cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, Dolla'!) The first time I heard it was on a PRINCESS CRUISE! I like ALL SONGS by Jimmy Buffett too. Another Kenny Chesney song called: "On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful." melissa_bel Posted August 21, 2004 #15 Share Posted August 21, 2004 "Buffalo Soldier", Bob Marley (If I have to choose one) "Tequila!" "Kokomo" The Beach Boys "Margaritaville" Jimmy Buffet "Sye Bwa" and "Zouk la se l'medicament" Kassav' (Creole group from Martinique and Guadeloupe) "No Money, No Love" and "Dan Is The Man (In The Van)" Mighty Sparrow (a legendary artist from Trinidad) The steeldrum melodies played by Deep Blue... I don't know the titles.. damn! "Hot! Hot! Hot!" Buster Poindexter even if starts to get on my nerves after a while. "Me Gusta tu" Manu Chao "Cazon de Mariachi" sung by Antonio Banderas with Los Lobos. "Come Sail Away" Styx "Guantanamera" by Celia Cruz "Tropicalia" Beck "Essa Moça Ta Differente" by Flavio Faria (Brazilian song, was used by a drink commercial and hit it BIG in Europe, you have to find that song. It's just pure beach feeling) "La Lune Opale" and "Samba de mon coeur qui bat" Coralie Clement (a French singer who listened to too much Brazilian Music). "Carnaval de Sao Vicente" Cesaria Evora "La baie" Etienne Daho (another french artist) "The Girl From Ipanema" Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto "Tamure Tahiti" Never knew the name of the group who performed it. "Tahiti, Tahiti" by Kapena (an Hawaian group, love it!) "Isa Lei" It's the Fijian farewell song. Never knew who sung it. "Jisas Yu Hand Blong Mi" - "God Yu Tekkem Laef Blong Mi" - Choir of All Saints. It's a choir from the Solomon Islands and they are religious songs. It's a typical Melanesian choral-style of singing. Not that it would put you in a mood to party but it is so beautiful and so evocative of the South Pacific islands. And of course: the "Love Boat" song! Maybe some others will come to mind... (Yeah, I'm a music fan ;) )
