what songs remind you of a cruise?

'slice of heaven' always reminds me of island night

'cruising' by gweneth paltrow reminds me of leaving port and days at sea

Well, there are SO many.... Margaritaville...Jimmy Buffett - is a great sailaway song with cocktail in hand.....

also we love Beyond The Sea ..Bobby Darin... and I just love the old LOVE BOAT theme..

we do heaps of dancing, so a lot of songs remind us of many late nights dancing our way across the oceans....BLISS!!!!

..any tune is good - as long as we are on a ship waving goodbye to land in the distance and winding down for a great cruise ahead!.....AAAhhhhh!!!....8 weeks to go...woo hoo....

(if I sound hyper..I AM...too much Easter choccy...OOhhh!)

I have Rod Stewart's "Sailing" as my ringtone on my phone.

The other song which sort of reminds me of cruising is Sean Kingston's "Me Love". I think because to me it sort of sounds like a tropically song.

As well as Men At Work's "Land Down Under". Yes, I know this is an Aussie song, but to me it always sounds like a tropical song!

Would love to see a list Teegie of all the songs you have! :)

There are three songs that do it for me:

1.

When we first started cruising in the 1980's whenever a Princess cruise left it's embarcatioin port this theme reverberated throughout the ship. It still brings chills when I hear it.

2.

by Bobby McFerrin

This song was played on a sail away on an unforgettable cruise for me and my wife and expresses the state of mind that's best for a cruise holiday.

3. Nobody Does It Better by Marvin Hamlisch sung by Carly Simon

Not cruise related but when I hear this song it makes me think of a cruise holiday. Nothing beats cruising.

The Macarena.

We were in one of the tenders going across to the Isle of Pines and the tender driver turned this on, and turned up the volume.

The tender was packed and we were all bopping along with it on the very bumpy ride to the island.

Bump, splash........... 'eeeh Macarena, A-Hai . :D

It was great fun.

The Morning After by Maureen McGovern? :D

along a similar line - the first song I heard on board Pacific Sky on my first cruise (as we were 'dinging in' for the first time as we boarded) was 'My Heart Will Go On' from Titanic!!

"When the Sun Goes Down" and "No Shoes No Shirt No Problems". Totally captures the feel of the Caribbean for me.

Two great songs KC. I must say though, most Kenny Chesney songs have that feeling of "being in paradise'. KC & the beach are just meant to be together:) .

My favourites are Enya Orinoco Flow and Celebration not sure who actually sings this one though. Just love the beat.

CRUISING ALONG :)

Cruising along, I have a version of Cool and the Gang singing Celebration, I think thats the original, but my favourite cover is Dragon, and Kylie does her own version too:eek: :p, not sure which they play on the ship:confused:
