Fuel Surcharge Refund (merged)

Recommended Posts

I'm taking a cruise next month and they just gave us an onboard credit for the fuel charge. I just found out yesterday when I went to check to make sure I had a credit applied for something else and saw the $40 fuel charge credit. Nice surprise!

DPurcell58,

If you've made final payment on your August cruise, it will be onboard credit,

but if not when you make final payment it's deducted from the balance due. Hope this helps:)

Just see that my refund is on my credit card from my Feb. 15th trip. I'm assuming it's also going to be removed from my trip for this Aug, need to call my TA about that.

I called C&A before leaving for Nav. 3/20 to see when I could get my 2/04 refund and was told it could be 6 mos.!!

We received a "Welcome to Diamond" letter from Alice Norsworthy, Sr. V.P., Marketing last mo. prior to our 10th cruise this mo. C&A declined that extra discount, of course. When we returned from that 10th cruise Tues. we had another letter from her welcoming us to Platinum! C&A now has us credited w/all the cruises after I sent a detailed list but online still shows 5, a month after I updated them!!

Looks like Royal is still not getting their act together.

I put our deposit down on Nov. 26th so we are off by ten days is there anyway to try to get our fuel surcharge back? There would be four of us on a nine day cruise, ouch!

I'm not sure if this is a serious post but, no, there is no way to get your fuel charge back. The difference is you knew that you were being charged the fuel charge. There was no fuel charge in effect for those who booked before November 16th.

Im so happy right now! I just got off the phone with crown and anchor to confirm my $200 OBC ($100 from future cruise credit and $100 from a promotion they were running).

The wonderful C and A specialist then asked me how I would like my fuel refund. I thought to myself, I just booked in February, I wasnt entitled to a refund.

However, he informed me that since I put down a $200 deposit on a future cruise in November 2007 when we were on enchantment and used that reservation number to book our November 2008 cruise on Liberty, I was entitled to the fuel supplement back. So my $200 OBC just turned into $340!!!!

Im doing the fuel supplement refund dance right now!!!

I wondered if they were going to do that. It sounds like it was a NextCruise deposit that you used to book your future cruise? Is that correct? We used a NC deposit from May 07 to book our Nov. 08 cruise. It does show initial payment in May 07...I will have to give them a call as well. :)

I never have learned to keep my mouth shut, so I have to ask...............

How are you getting a $140 OBC on a 7 night cruise? I thought on a 7 night cruise it was $70 per cabin max?

It should be unless they have two rooms they are paying for.

That was my question too? I looked at our invoice and it said $35 a person for $70. But the lady told me $140. I think she made a mistake, and its really $70. But Ill take anything!

Uhh. krmlaw....please don't leave us hanging here. It is a simple question regarding your unexpected windfall.

Agree with PB :) Your TA might have made two mistakes :(

We were on enchantment in Nov 07 and put down a $200 deposit for DH and myself for a future cruise. We didnt pick the cruise then, but they gave me a reservation number and I used that number to make my reservations for Liberty for Nov 08. Not sure if this is called next cruise or not?

Im thinking we will get the $70 and not $140 and they made a mistake. I hope they dont realize it!
