We are sailing out of Boston Oct. 10 on Jewel..I have no problem packing for warmer cruises.

I am curious as to what kind of clothing I will need. I want to pack smart for this trip.

any suggestions would be appreciated. Would love to hear from other cruisers who may have done this trip...thanks

Layers - it could be really cool on the water in October. Days could be warm, nights cool. It could also rain. So at least a warm sweatshirt or fleece, turtleneck, long pants, and a windbreaker. Probably won't need more than 1 pair of shorts, if that. If you have a variety, you can just rewear clothes - it's unlikely they will get really sweaty. By October I am wearing long pants and a cotton pullover sweater with either a short sleeve shirt or a turtleneck under it.

You'll want at least a sweatshirt or fleece. It was 47 degrees last night here and about 70 degrees for a high yesterday and that was August. Hard to say what October will be, but you want at least long pants and sweatshirt to be warmer at night. Days won't be so bad.

Hi,

Think "winter" clothes for Fla and you should be fine!

I wouldn't bother bringing any shorts (unless you plan to wear them working out in the ship's fitness center) or capris, but would plan to bring several long-sleeved tee's or fleeces, Jeans or other pants. If not available in your stores in Fla., you can order the tees and fleeces from LLBean or Lands End. I'd also recommend a good rain coat to wear over a fleece so that you don't let a few rain drops keep you from exploring your ports. On your feet? Sneakers, Merrells or low-cut hiking shoes would be all good. Save the flip flops for the walk to the spa : ) It'll be too cool to wear them in port.

Enjoy!

Lynne
