What to do until hotel room is available??

We are staying one night post cruise, but I anticipate that the room will not be ready immediately after we disembark. I have read suggestions of taking a tour that will then drop off at the airport. Since we are not going to the airport, has anyone had experience with one of these tours dropping you off at a hotel?

We took a taxi into old San Juan and toured the forts, and did some shopping in Old SJ. Lots of very nice shops there. Our room wasn't ready until after 4:30pm.

you can head to the hotel, check your bags, and ask if the room is ready, or if perhaps it might be ready a bit early.....

 

get something to eat, coffee, whatever...and head off to OSJ. OR, maybe the hotel has a place you can change and hit the pool.

 

i have been pretty successful checking into various hotels before the 3 or 4 PM normal check in time..........but you never know.
