DesrtDrmr Posted December 31, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2004 While I think that it is wonderful to post relief organizations here, and I did look them up before making my donation, I noticed that the Network for Good organization mentioned on these boards and on AOL does charge 3% of the donation....................for you to make your donation. I didn't wish to have my donation "diluted", so googled my organization of choice, went to their own website, and donated there. No flames, please........I just noticed that 3% notice just as I was going to make my donation.............thought you might not have noticed that either. relevart Posted December 31, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2004 DesrtDrmr thank you for pointing that out. I had already gone to the website of the organization I wanted and contributed there but it really angers me to think some groups are making money off this thing. Laura7015 Posted December 31, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2004 I suggest that you check out any charity you're considering donating to. Charity Navigator.org, http://www.charitynavigator.org/, is an independent organization that evaluates and rates thousands of charities. They also provide suggestions specifically for those wishing to help with tsunami relief in Asia.
