Bequia Posted September 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2009 You can tell a lot about a restaurant by looking up their health department inspection report. ;) https://www.myfloridalicense.com/inspectionDetail.asp?InspVisitID=3220946&id=3844019 ///////
Rare crewsweeper Posted September 4, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2009 slimy roaches in the ice machine aside (sorry used to linve in Houston and that was the lead in to the restaurant report every week:D): Here's some TripAdvisor and recent yelpers reviews. Looks a bit more favorable since the redo. http://www.yelp.com/biz/bimini-boatyard-bar-and-grill-fort-lauderdale-2 http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g34227-d465985-Reviews-Bimini_Boatyard_Bar_Grill-Fort_Lauderdale_Florida.html http://fortlauderdale.citysearch.com/profile/2576392/fort_lauderdale_fl/bimini_boatyard_bar_grill.html#profileTab-reviews
Smoke Fan Posted September 4, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2009 We didn't care for it. Kind of musty smell, cold atmosphere, food was nothing to rave about. There is a very good Italian restaurant in the strip mall just across from Bimini. Can't recall the name though, perhaps Bequia can help. TrentS Posted September 4, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2009 Bimini Boatyard isn't what it used to be, I'd pass. The Italian restaurant in the same strip mall is called Bravo, it's very good.
royalcruz Posted September 5, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Bimini Boatyard closed last month for renovations and is supposed to reopen this week, if it hasn't already. If you go, let us know how it is...
coiran Posted September 5, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Bimini Boatyard had new ownership last year - I did not try the food but their prices went up considerably. Ron
royalcruz Posted September 5, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Bimini Boatyard had new ownership last year - I did not try the food but their prices went up considerably. Ron Half of the dinner entrees are still $20 and under, so this is not an expensive restaurant. If you tend to eat a 3 course meal, I guess it could get pricy. They still have the Snapper Viequez ($15) on the lunch menu and the Diane salad ($11) for lunch or dinner. Those are my favorite dishes there.
