Rare boards Posted November 21, 2013 #1101 Share Posted November 21, 2013 IRL Joanie we have been assigned a BQ120 formerly a BB on the Maasdam Dec. 6. I am surprised at the designation of BQ, but I chatted with Lisa on the chat line and she assured me it was a BQ cat. Can you advise whether this is a cabin we would enjoy because we do not plan to use the Spa amenities?

Can you advise whether this is a cabin we would enjoy because we do not plan to use the Spa amenities? boards, I do not know whether you will enjoy it or not. I do not have any info on the BQ's on Maasdam. The closest that I can come would be April 2010 BA 117 http://abqreunion2008.com/Maasdam/Deck-9.html I would say that if you like the location, then go for it, whether or not you use any of the amenities that go with the "Q's" Sorry I cannot give you a better answer:( Joanie
IRL_Joanie Posted November 23, 2013 Author #1104 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Has the link been set up to view the cabin pictures? Am eager to see SS 8099 Westerdam! Kitred, I have quite a number of Deck 8 SS staterooms here: http://abqreunion2008.com/Westerdam/Deck-8.html Just go down the page about 1/2 way and click on the Photos to view them full sized and read the reviews of the staterooms. The SS staterooms are pretty much exact duplicates of each other and the only difference will be in the location of the stateroom itself. The closest I have to SS 8099 would be SS 8088, which is across the ship and foreward by just a couple staterooms. Joanie
Rare boards Posted November 23, 2013 #1105 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Thank you. We had hoped to be a little more midship, but we were in HH314 last year and we survived the motion and that is my concern with this cabin. But looking at it in from the outside it is further back than the HH was, so I think we will be okay.

Kitred Posted November 25, 2013 #1112 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Hi Joanie- I used the link but when I click on the ship it gives the error message as before - error 404. I am wondering if it's because I am using an iPhone ? I will try another device and let you know .
Kitred Posted November 25, 2013 #1113 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Hi Joanie- the error message did not come up when I used another device that wasn't Apple and it worked fine. Must be an issue with the Safari on the I device and not your website.

kl630 Posted November 28, 2013 #1115 Share Posted November 28, 2013 I'm sure that there is information about this somewhere, as well as pictures, but we're trying to make a very quick decision about an aft cabin on deck 6 on the Nieuw Amsterdam. Does anyone have an opinion about 6170, 6177, 6179, or 6181? Is one better than the other? Any information would be wonderful - we've never booked an aft cabin before! I have a few photos and comments from other CC members about the Deck 6 Staterooms on Nieuw Amsterdam here : http://abqreunion2008.com/Nieuw_Amsterdam/Deck-6.html About 2/3s of the way down the page And you can also use Eurodam as comparisons, they are located here: http://abqreunion2008.com/Eurodam/Deck-6.html Differences will be the furnishings and the name of the ship. There is another sticky just under this one that covers the Eurodam and has excellent photos and info. Between the 2, you may find what you're looking for. I noticed that this is an SS....are these new classifications? What were they classed as before? Would love to see pics of the room and balcony if anyone has any. Thanks :) 8076 was an SS and while it stays in the same location, it is being reclassified as an SY after the reclassification.new deck plans. I have a few photos of several SS class staterooms on Zuiderdam and they will be almost identical to what you wish to see:) Just follow the link and head about 1/2 way down the page to see the SS staterooms and click on individual snap shots to see a full sized image. http://abqreunion2008.com/Zuiderdam/Deck-8.html Joanie

Ontariotrekker Posted December 29, 2013 #1125 Share Posted December 29, 2013 It's located just steps away from the aft elevators and handy to disembark on your own for shore excursions etc. You do hear engine noise especially during docking procedures. The bathroom is narrow and has a tub and a partial wall blocking the toilet so it would be difficult for someone using a walker. The tub has several handholds. If you are the least bit narcissistic, you will love this cabin! Mirrors are everywhere - big one in the bathroom over the sink and another in the tub area as well as a full-sized behind the bathroom door, a large one over the desk and one even frames the picture over the sofa.
