Is China visa included in cost of Costa excursions?

We're cruising with Costa in the Far East in Nov 2009, and will be visiting Beijing independently first. We have an excursion booked via Costa in Sanya and are not sure if the visa is included in the cost of the tour. Costa are not clear on this either!

Need to know as we're not sure if we should apply for a single or double entry visa for China.

Have any other British Citizens visited China with Costa and know what the visa situation is please?

This information is covered fully on the Costa Web site:

Farrlacey,

Sorry I gave you the wrong link, here is the correct one to COsta UK Web Site:

http://www.costacruises.co.uk/B2C/GB/before_board/documentation/travel.htm

or

China - A Single or Multiple visa is compulsory for positioning cruises between:

Hong Kong (or Singapore) to Tianjin

Hong Kong (or Singapore) to Shanghai

Shanghai to Hong Kong (or Singapore)

Tianjin to Hong Kong (or Singapore)

Multiple China visa is compulsory for positioning/regular cruises:

Shanghai to Tianjin

Shanghai to Shanghai

Tianjin to Tianjin

Tianjin to Shanghai

A a special visa for China will be provided on board only for itineraries from Hong Kong (or Singapore) to Hong Kong (or Singapore) stopping at Sanya. For UK pax it is free of charge for guests participating in a Costa excursion, however it must be purchased (RMB 469) in case guests want to disembark individually.

In case of embarkation and disembarkation during any planned stops in all ports* of China, a visa is required and guests will have to request it in advance from the Chinese Consulate (*The only exception is Sanya transit -see above ).

Hope this helps.

Ron
