of caribbean in November? I'm PRAYING for hot, beautiful weather - but super nervous about the tail end of hurricane season. What are your thoughts? Anyone sailed in nov. to the caribbean? What was your experience?

Sailing on the Crown.

Thanks!!

We did the Eastern Caribbean last November (right after the election, so it was early November) and it was hot and beautiful! Friends of mine did the same itinerary in mid October last year and got diverted due to a hurricane.

Good luck!

We have sailed several times in November to the Caribbean. Only once did we actually run into the tail end of a hurricane. Probably not likely to ever happen again, but I have to admit, it was a really different type of cruise, especially in an aft cabin. lol

Hot is what you will find, and the chance of a hurricane is very very slim in November.

If they divert you because of a hurricane, they will take the ship somewhere safe whether that is another stop or just out to sea.

We have cruised in December twice and the Caribbean temperatures were warm to hot. We think the weather that time of year is just beautiful which is why we are going back this December ;)

We did a B2B in Oct/Nov and it was ungodly hot! We will ALWAYS sail during hurricane season! Every night the ship would become engulfed in a thick thick fog, and lightening seemed to strike everywhere in the fog, hundreds of bats flew around the ship dodging into the lights to pick up bugs. We'd sit out on the balcony at night for HOURS, just watching the most amazing storms ever! It only rained once, it was about 12:30 at night, lightening thunder and waves of rain flying everywhere, it really was spectacular. Even though all of this was happening, we had the smoothest seas.

Back to the weather, for the most part it couldn't have been better, but because we took a b2b for a total of 14 days, we missed a lot in ports and didn't even get off the ship in 1, missing our excursion, it was just too hot! It was on the second leg and so we already were exhausted from the heat and probably a little dehydrated. So just beware, drink plenty of water and try to keep cool when you can. Otherwise, I highly recommend Hurricane season!

Relax. Remember that tropical weather (hurricane) is generated by HEAT - warm/hot water. There's no such thing as cool hurricane weather. BUT (tropical weather aside) there is the 'possibility' of seasonally windy weather in November through January/February. No certainty of course, and it may only result in pleasant breezes; but it can be windy to the point of high surf and blowing sand that impedes beaching on an otherwise warm and sunny day. Nothing to lose sleep over, one of the lesser imperfections of day to day week to week weather.
