cruise addicted Posted September 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Can anyone tell me how much they paid for a taxi for 2 from orlando international to cape canaveral. I don't know if its better to take a taxi or rent a car for a day. Also how long did it take to get there. Thank-you.
gone_cruisin Posted September 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Unless the rental car is $100 or more for the day, you are better off with a car. The ride is about 30-45 mins depending on traffic. Budget has a drop off within a mile of the ship and they offer a free shuttle to the ship. firefly333 Posted September 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Id say 45 minutes plus, but I didnt take a shuttle, we drove and werent familiar with the area. 30 minutes, wow that car must have flown fast. For sure you dont want to do a taxi that far.
gill_boo Posted September 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2009 If you can't do the rental car thing, do Carnival's transportation, a taxi would cost way more.

Bunkie103 Posted September 13, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Several years ago we took Carnival transfer and were glad we did. There were brush fires and the road to the port was closed. It involved lots of detours and could have been very confusing.
semichigan Posted September 14, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 14, 2009 We rented a car from Avis one way. Arrived a day early, stayed in Cocoa Beach, dropped the car off and Avis shuttled us to the pier. About $50 for the car rental & very easy. It did take close to an hour from the airport. I would not arrive the day of your sailing.
samiam519 Posted September 14, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 14, 2009 We are taking a shuttle called Beach Bound Shuttle. Very reasonable. They do round-trip fares and it is less expensive than a car both ways. Port Canaveral to McCoy is expensive to rent a car. Not so bad Orlando to the port. Check out beachboundshuttle dot com. jessemon Posted September 14, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 14, 2009 You can use Cocoa Beach Shuttle. Around $35. Here is the site.... http://www.cbshuttle.com Have used them in the past to get to the ship from hotels and they are great.
