Hotel Walkable to Navona area in Rome?

Hi. Can anyone suggest a reasonable hotel walkable to the Piazza Navona area? Need just one night prior to cruise. ($200 range if that's possible?)

Try Venere.com to search for a hotel. We've used them several times for Rome as well as other major cities. Their listings are categorized by areas so you can narrow your search down to the area you want and they have ratings and reviews for each hotel.

I stayed at Hotel Teatropace, just around the corner from Pza. Navona. It was perfect for a short stay and very reasonable, too.

It is really hard to recommend a hotel in a price range without knowing when you are going. Hotel prices vary GREATLY from off season to low season to high season.....

 

When we went this past May we arrived May 3 for just 1 night precruise. When we returned and disembarked (11 nights later) we stayed at the same hotel for 1 night post cruise.

 

Here's the kicker. We paid $239. per night for the first night. Low season. The second night we were into high season and paid $384. per night. That is a big difference.

 

Venere.com is a great site for looking around. Find a few that look good to you and then come back here and ask about those few.

We stayed at the Hotel Smeralda and were very satisfied. Easy walk to Piazza Navona, which we absolutely loved. Went there every night just to people watch and enjoy a glass of wine. Also was not terribly far from Forum and Colliseum. Stayed there in July'08 and it was reasonably priced.

Thank you. I actually ended up booking Hotel Genio near Navona. Comments include AC issues but hopefully it won't be an issue mid-May. Thanks for your response...appreciate it.

Hi, David, we spent five nights in mid-June at the Hotel Smeraldo (we had stayed there four nights three years ago) and were very happy with our choice. Superb location for nightly strolls, close to the Largo Argentina transportation hub, and spotless rooms with good a/c and great soundproofing, all for 130 Euros per night.

We stayed at Hotel Isa, 39 Via Ciccerone. Quite reasonable with brealfast and great location for walking to many sites, including the Vatican and Piazza Navona
