Harbor House or Hilton

Hello Sandy00039,

The Hilton, Why? Its on the Seawall across the street from the Beach, close to the Rainforest cafe which has entertainers out during the weekend, walking distance to several good restaurants. Great walks on the beach after eating. Lots of activities to do in the evening.

The Harbor house is close to the cruise ship terminal and the Strand but at night it is pretty much dead since the shops close up on the Strand early.

Just my opinion I'm sure others will chime in soon

Both are actually fun.

Activities around the beach are wonderful.

Bar around pool at San Luis Hotel and the Spot are places to drink

on Seawall.

FYI:

NEW is a fabulous Greek restaurant downstairs at Habor House.

Friday and Saturday nights are Live Greek Bands with belly dancing or Carribean Live Bands. A great view of port both ways ....and beautiful Sunsets.

Willie G's is across the street, Fisherman's Wharf and Luigi's Italian and new Cagun within a couple few blocks. Next door also is a Theater with two films about 1900 Storm and Pirate Jean Lafitte.

Also The Elisa Tall Ship (a Galveston Historical Foundation fabulous restoration project) and the Maritime Seaport Museum.

Harbor House is at pier 21 and you can watch cruise ships

arrive and depart from your window or decks below.

You can walk to the terminal which starts at Pier 25 depending

on nature and extent of your bags situation.

If it is right Saturday night...... once a monththere is ART and WINE WALK on Strand and Post Office Streets

where Galleries and Stores stay open to strolling patrons.

There are bars on the Strand

Check at Theater Venues -

1894 Grand Opera House (truly old and Grand) and Strand Street Theater

for presentations. Big time Musicians and Broadway plays and musicals

are there year around.

Island etc at The Strand Theatre

Galveston, TX 77550

On Post Office Street are the 1894 Opera House,

Seafood, Sushi, Steak and SouthAmerican Resturants.

Sky Bar Sushi and Steaks, and Rudy&Pacos are my favorites

on Post Office....... along with Olympia Greek Grill on the port. :)
