Norfolk, VA Cruise Terminal Voted Best in US

Saw this article today and thought it was interesting. If Norfolk was voted number 1, why are there so few cruises from there? It is centrally located on the east coast so it would make sense to have more cruises and it takes less time to get to the Atlantic then from Baltimore. (cruises from Baltimore almost go right by it). Anyway thought I would pass this on.

It's an on-going survey of passenger satisfaction, and it varies from survey to survey, as what you have quoted clearly says. For example it was "frequently ranked in the top five throughout the season"...so some weeks it wasn't even in the top 5. ;)

 

Besides, the article's lead sentence is pure puffery. The port hasn't gotten a "thumbs up" from RCI...it's gotten a thumbs up from RCI's passengers.

 

There's a lot more to the selection of a homeport than customer satisfaction surveys...customer demand has to be there, and I suspect a lot more people live close to Baltimore than Norfolk.
