Jim Henry Posted September 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2009 For our family cruise during Christmas break we are looking at either a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas (Half Moon Cay and Nassau) or to Mexico (Cozumel and Calica.) Looking for warm weather and warm water for water sports. Will the beaches/water in Mexico be much warmer? How does the snorkeling compare to Bahamas? cruisetobeaches Posted September 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Mexico will be warmer as it is farther south. Bahamas can be hit or miss as far as warm weather in winter. My experience with snorkeling: Mexico is better IF you go to the right place!
Rare jimbo5544 Posted September 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Totally agree, Mexico is better that time of year.

cruisetobeaches Posted September 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2009 I forgot to mention that Half Moon Cay is a beautiful, relaxing stop. We were there last December and while it was a little cool, we still had the best time of that cruise in that port!
karen1225 Posted September 30, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 30, 2009 I also agree with Mexico at that time of year. I have been to both, and Mexico will offer more consistent weather at that time. HAVE FUN
