Bahamas or Mexico?

For our family cruise during Christmas break we are looking at either a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas (Half Moon Cay and Nassau) or to Mexico (Cozumel and Calica.) Looking for warm weather and warm water for water sports.

 

Will the beaches/water in Mexico be much warmer? How does the snorkeling compare to Bahamas?

Mexico will be warmer as it is farther south. Bahamas can be hit or miss as far as warm weather in winter. My experience with snorkeling: Mexico is better IF you go to the right place!

mexico. i was in the bahamas in february and the water was still pretty cold.:(

I forgot to mention that Half Moon Cay is a beautiful, relaxing stop. We were there last December and while it was a little cool, we still had the best time of that cruise in that port!

I also agree with Mexico at that time of year. I have been to both, and Mexico will offer more consistent weather at that time.
