NWHairGal Posted September 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Our family is sailing the Ruby this March. We have a "quad" room (with 4 beds) with a balcony. Does anyone have a sample photo of what this will look like on the Ruby? We've done a quad room without a balcony, but the beds were situated in the corners of the rooms and the top beds "dropped" down directly above the floor beds. But with a balcony...... where would these 3rd & 4th beds "descend" from? There aren't corners available with the balcony...or are there? Hmmmm....... I'm just trying to visualize so I can plan how much/little to pack and how cramped we'll be. lol.
roe2ship Posted October 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2009 If you have a standard balcony, sorry to say but the inside cabin is the same amount of room as the inside quad you had, there is no difference. The beds drop down from the ceiling.
cherylandtk Posted October 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2009 This thread has photos of the quad balcony with the uppers in place. It is much like the inside room, but the beds are placed parallel to the side of the ship, not perpendicular. The uppers are still positioned over the two lowers. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=415324 The square footage of an inside cabin is listed at 165. The balcony room, with balcony, ranges from 233-285, with the higher number referring to the Caribe deck balconies of ~100 sq ft. Most balconies are ~50 sq. ft. ; which leaves about 180-185 ft for the room itself. This is the same size as most OV rooms, but a bit larger than the inside rooms.
