Bert64 Posted January 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2005 A few friends and I planned a girls weekend and are cruising on a 3 night getaway to the Bahamas on the Majesty this April. We're just looking to have a fun time, not really concerned with the little things (like having 5 star cuisine or a huge, spacious suite as we aren't planning to be in there that much.) We're more so interested in relaxing at the pool/beach, a little action in the casino, and maybe some late night drinks and dancing. Can anyone tell me more about their experiences on a shorter cruise? I've read that these weekend cruises tend to attract a younger, more *lively* crowd as compared to the weeklong cruises...is there any truth to this? Really, ANYTHING you could offer would be great! It will be the second cruise for myself and the first for everyone one else, so whatever I can pass along would be helpful.
bUU Posted January 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2005 We did this cruise in November. I don't think we can really get a good read on the typical passenger, since our cruise hosted the Ms. Bodylicious competition.
buzzandjulie Posted January 5, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2005 I think that it is a good way to experieince cruising and see if you like it. We did 2 a few years ago because of vaction limitations it was all the time my husband had. It was very enjoyable and I think the croup on board were mostly young adults to mid 40ish. I would not waste money on a balcony because it really would be wasted as you semd most of time on island. Food and entertainment was good as 1 week
BamaVol Posted January 5, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2005 We have taken the 3 day in January and 4 day in June. June was packed with families. January was more couples. Lots of fun was had on both. Late night drinks and casino action are available. Watch out for spring-breakers in April.
