Taxi from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami ????

Has anyone ever taken a taxi from Ft. Lauderdale to the Miami pier and how much did it cost and would you consider it safe? Or would it be better if they purchased transfer through the cruise lineto the pier? Friends are flying into Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday to get on the Navigator of the Seas in Miami. Also, do you know if you can purchase transfer at the airport when you land?

A taxi is safe and it will cost about $65 depending on traffic. You can also go outside the baggage claim area to the kiosk operated by Tricounty limo. They will put you in a Town Car to Miami for about $55.

We used Shar-a-Ride at $15/ea. They have a desk right outside the terminal where the taxis are ... they put us in a nice town car with one other person going to Miami.

I'd use Tri County also. You get the most comfortable ride there can be for $55 in a towncar. Your friends can also make arrangements during the ride with the driver for the return trip. The driver will meet your friends at the pier.
