Fort Lauderdale Hotel check out time - cruise check in time

We are staying at the Marriott Beach Place Towers and their check out time is 10am. I think I read that the doors to the waiting room at the pier don't open until 12pm. Is that true? So, if we were to check out of our hotel and go to the port, check in our luggage would we have to just stand in line outside for an hour and a half or so? :(

You can request a late check out and 99% of the time the hotel will agree.

I always arrive at the pier at noon, and have never had to stand outside waiting. Once for a Carnival cruise there was a line outside, but it was moving. I think the doors open around 11.

So, it sounds like we should ask for a late checkout of 11 and get to the port between 11-1130. Thanks

have you asked the hotel what the chances are for a little later check out...if they arent sold out that night they should be able to extend at least a little...10am is awfully early...
