Tip Policy/Room Service & cabin questions

I assume most people tip for room service, if so, how much would be an average tip for breakfast for 2. Do you use cash or do you charge to your cabin? Also, is there a running total of onboard expenditures listed daily on the tv? Are the robes, binoculars and umbrella already available in the cabin or do you request them? Thanks for any cabin tips that previous AZ cruisers have to offer.

On Azamara you will have a butler. Every cabin has butler service. He will arrange for your breakfast, etc. You just need to ask him. You will be charged $12.25 per day per person to your ship board account. At the end of the cruise you make tip him/her above and beyond that if you feel you had the best service. If you have a regular cabin you are entitled to 2 nights free dining at the specialty restaurant and if you have a suite you are entitled to 3 nights. Of course, you can go everynight for free but you must make a reservation through your butler and anything above those guaranteed nights is by reservation and availability. Any other questions, feel free to ask. What a great cruise line you have chosen.

Hi

There is no need to tip for room service and the staff certainly don't look for it. If you try to offer a tip they certainly seem very reluctant to take it. However, it is nice to offer a little something I know (in cash) as you don't sign anything for room service, unless you are ordering alcohol, when an 18% service charge will be added. For other services on board, like wine, cocktails, beer, speciality coffees in the Cova Cafe, spa treatments etc., an 18% service charge is added, which you will see under your ship board account on the tv. On Azamara you are not treated as a cash cow and you will find no 'nickle and diming'.

The binoculars and umbrella (to use), tote bag and slippers (to keep) are all in your room when you arrive.

Have a wonderful time.

Lynne:)

This is what is so great about CC, if you have a simple question, thought, you have a great place to get the answers. Its been a great source when booking cruises. We are really excited about our trip next May 14-day Best of Italy on the Quest. Any other suggestions, ports, etc. is always welcome.

Thank you so much for your tips.

Jan
