karenh1127 Posted October 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2009 We booked a room at the Tremont House for next Sat night just for fun. I will have my 2 sons and my niece. My niece and I are big fans of "ghost" shows. I saw that there is a tour offered on the Strand but I am not sure if it is a walking tour or what. Has anyone done this or heard about it? Thanks! Rare Host Kat Posted October 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2009 You should have gotten a room on the 5th floor at the Galvez Hotel: http://www.galvestonghost.com/galvez.html You should also check out the supposedly haunted portrait of Bernardo de Galvez at the Galvez Hotel: http://www.hauntedamericatours.com/museum/hauntedGalvez.htm Be sure to watch out for the Haunted Hag of the Strand: http://www.hauntedamericatours.com/ghosthunting/HagOfGalveston.php Kat
cks Posted October 22, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2009 We booked a room at the Tremont House for next Sat night just for fun. I will have my 2 sons and my niece. My niece and I are big fans of "ghost" shows. I saw that there is a tour offered on the Strand but I am not sure if it is a walking tour or what. Has anyone done this or heard about it? Thanks! It's a fun little tour. It's not particularly scary or anything, but it's a great history lesson. The guide, Dash, takes you on a walking tour through the downtown area. You stop outside of certain buildings and he tells you about the ghosts that are there and how they got there (civil war, 1900 Storm, etc). You only go inside 1 or 2 buildings, and the tour can get kinda long if you've got "those" people who ask questions every 30 seconds. Overall, it's cute, hokey, and interesting. Forgot to add, there's also an "are we haunted" tour at Ashton Villa (just a regular tour with ghost stories). And I think the Galvez is doing a haunted tour this year as well. You can find info for all of it at http://www.galveston.com. Have fun!
karenh1127 Posted October 22, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted October 22, 2009 Thanks for the info! I had a feeling the walking tour was too much history and not enough ghost hunting. My niece is a real fan and has wanted to go look for "real" ghost. lol  I think I will look for the Ashton Villa tour!
