glo3479 Posted October 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2009 Anyone going on the April 1st cruise aboard the Legend that can give us some pointers. Will there be an Black Tie option night aboard.
JaneBP Posted October 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2009 If the itinerary is still in the Caribbean, there won't be a formal night. Just take some time and read many of the threads. There are lots of helpful hints in them. You will enjoy the pampering.

We will be leaving the ship the day you arrive..don't be concerned..they will have replenished the Champagne..good thing..as I do my share of enjoying..Lola :D
JaneBP Posted October 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2009 Thanks, I will start reading more on the Legend and what to expect. You can read about all the triplets, since they are the same except for a few trivial differences. One of them has only one sink, but I never remember which one. I think one of the best hints from Martita is to remove the chair from the vanity and place a stool there instead. (which can be used for storage, too.) It makes the space between the bed and vanity much more accessible.
glo3479 Posted October 20, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted October 20, 2009 Do not worry, I just called the Legend and told them to order twice as much Champagne for your cruise and to re-order before mine.... I love the Champagne Cocktails.... with a beautiful sunset.....
Martita B. Posted October 20, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2009 Be sure to look for the Green Flash's ~~perfect time in the Caribbean to see this phenomenon! Year before last on the Pride we saw two! Best place to stand is on Deck 5 at the bow of the ship. Keep your eyes on the sunset ~~you might just see it! Have fun Martita B. Martita B. Posted October 20, 2009 #9 Share Posted October 20, 2009 Google Green Flash ~~! Perhaps there is a video of it. Also, when aboard ask your Captain ~~ It's a once in a lifetime sight! Many 'ole salty sea daogs have been watching for it for years and years ~~never seeing it. MB

njguy_south Posted November 10, 2009 #12 Share Posted November 10, 2009 Any guesses on why this cruise (April 1) suddenly came available? It is not even in their catalogue, only on their web-site. Do you think it had to do with a group or compan cancelling their whole-ship booking? Or that they were going to put her into dry dock, but decided not to? glo3479 Posted November 10, 2009 Author #13 Share Posted November 10, 2009 It was due to the problems in Samolia... They didn't want to take any chances with their passengers.
njguy_south Posted December 9, 2009 #14 Share Posted December 9, 2009 What is everyone planning to do in Progresso? Anything interesting elsewhere that you plan to see?

SantaAna,CA Posted December 15, 2009 #16 Share Posted December 15, 2009 Hi, glo (and others). I was on Seabourn's website tonight and saw this sailing. I am thinking about it; I put in a quote request, we'll see how the single supplement comes up. I was on Silversea's Silver Shadow to the southern Caribbean last month. I had a wonderful time (their pool area rocks!), but my first love is Seabourn. With any luck I might see you. And Cozumel! Good scuba there. glo3479 Posted December 15, 2009 Author #17 Share Posted December 15, 2009 Jane, Keep us posted... the more the merrier... We were on Silverseas Whisper... we did a Southern Caribbean cruise... a couple of years ago.... This will be our first Seabourn and we are looking forward to it... SantaAna,CA Posted December 15, 2009 #18 Share Posted December 15, 2009 :( Seabourn does not have any single run of ship guaranties right now on this sailing. The quote came back at the rate of 175% single supplement. Not doable for me. Tres disappointing. Jane
the_dylaness Posted January 6, 2010 #19 Share Posted January 6, 2010 Count me (and DH) in! First time Seabourn sailers, looking very much forward to the experience.
JaneBP Posted January 6, 2010 #20 Share Posted January 6, 2010 And Jane and Fred (as of yesterday). Anyone up for a curry luncheon on one of the sea days? I figure that soon the preliminary documents will be done and we will have more information as to the Progresso stop which is the one that interests us. Also, I have never been to Key West. Jane--you will like Key West--Lots of cats, and history--would love to stay on board and join you on this segment, but house and dog sitter would not be available. The combo is really a good one!! the_dylaness Posted January 6, 2010 #22 Share Posted January 6, 2010 Did somebody say CURRY!? I'm in. I found out from Seabourn today that they expect the shore excursion options to be posted around the third week of January. Gives me something to look forward to upon return from the Solstice! JaneBP Posted January 7, 2010 #23 Share Posted January 7, 2010 Great! I'll organize a lunch. Not the last day, that's the Galley Market Luncheon. But it wi be easy to do. (Right after Trivia in the DR). Details to follow. I will be on the week before so it will be all set.
JaneBP Posted January 11, 2010 #24 Share Posted January 11, 2010 Forgot there was this thread. Just posted on the 'Atypical Itinerary' thread that on Wed 4/7, the Legend is the only ship in port! Should mean no huddled masses at the airport.
njguy_south Posted January 16, 2010 #25 Share Posted January 16, 2010 SOME of the shore excursions have been listed. Has anyone had experience with excursions sponsored by Seabourn? Are they usually worth the money, uncrowded, and unhurried? I hope they post the others soon. Also, will we have a caviar at sea day? When do you think they will put the marina down? I noticed that for Cozumel, we are listed as neither docked not tendered -- do you think that might be the marina day? I am getting excited.
