Pia1913 Posted October 24, 2009 #26 Share Posted October 24, 2009 This subject is an indictment of any ship's coffee, which we liken to liquid asphalt. We bring along a French Press coffee maker and our own blend of coffee (augmented with local coffees when sailing anywhere near Central America). The hot water dispenser in the Horizon works very well as far as temperature. But for the room, we rely on one of those immersible heaters to bring room water up to temperature. We used to use the immersible; coffeemaker is so much easier. Immersible does instant and/or tea well, but you can't get brewed coffee from it. A French Press coffee maker only needs water at the right temperature and that can be obtained with an immersible heater.

Too much work. Measure a scoop of coffee, put sink water in pot, flip on switch: fresh brewed. VOILA! And HOT! :D;):D Oh........forgot. Set it up before going to bed.
