Im a bit confused on this one guys. My DW and I have never been to Miami so we do not know the area at all. We are flying into FLL on Wed March 3rd and leaving out on the Navigator on the 4ht. I have no idea what area I should look into for hotel should I stay in Ft Lauderdale...go to Miami...which part of Miami. Not really looking for nightlife...we might do dinner and a walk but we wouldnt club at all. Any help from your guys would be great. Thanks

What is a "good" price to bid for a downtown hotel?

Go to the hotel site and another like Expedia and see what the rooms are going for. Then start by offering 40 % off that rate. If you are not looking during spring break, a big sporting event or convention, that should be a good start. Holidays I'd start at 25%-30% off rack.

There are two websites that help you determine "good" prices. Better Bidding and Bidding for Travel are great resources. You can Google them or just remove the spaces and add a dot com. Also, at the top of this forum, is a list of winning PriceLine bids.:D

if your just going too hoof it..then the POM hoilday inn..its across the street from Bayside and the closest hotel to the cruise terminals..cab would be about $10..

as i prepared to bid on Priceline i chose 3 star and up and would have been happy with just about any hotel in that range..luckily we did end up getting Holiday Inn..it was alot better than we expected..

If you are not interested in nightlife, etc., why not skip Miami; you'll find good dining and cheaper hotels near FLL. Have a good meal, a good sleep, a nice breakfast, maybe a walk on the beach, and then catch a shuttle to POM for your cruise. Good luck!:)
