Roll Call: NCL Jewel 12/6/09

Alright, the bf and I booked last night. Any other gay's coming along on this one? Has anyone been on an NCL cruise before? This is my first time on a cruise with the open dining idea. Hope to talk to you soon.

We aren't on this cruise, but leaving from Miami on 12/6 aboard the NCL Star. We both love NCL because of the freestyle. Eat when you want. It's so much better then having to be at dinner at a certain time. You guys will LOVE IT!!

I am not on your sailing but will be on her in early January (the 3rd to be precise). I've sailed on the Jewel before so I know the layout of the ship well since I spent 12 days on her in the Med. The opening dining concept works well but during peak times in the main dining areas expect a more leisurely service and dinner. (Peak is between 6:30PM and 8PM). I usually go when the restaurant opens so I can get the rest of the entertainment done in the early evening and relax a bit at a lounge before disco'ing the night away.

 

The two main dining rooms are Tsar's Palace and Azura. Azura is the dining room where blue jeans are allowed. Tsar's Palace is resort casual attire like khakis and button down shirt. The other restaurants onboard and there are about 10 others are for fees of various ranges. I recommend Cagney's Steakhouse and Le Bistro.
