  1. Book a sail away room - those don’t have the free at sea.
  2. I believe that the ship is all American crew, so that also increases the cost, compared to a normal cruise ship.
  3. I was looking at the Prima last night (sister ship to the Viva). Did you bother pricing out the Suite class of rooms? For our cruise, several of them were actually cheaper than the club balcony, and had a separate bedroom and living room, as well as much larger balconies. They come with butler, but no Haven access, so might be a nice midpoint between the club and the Haven, and the three of you would probably fit in one room.
  4. How long are the decorations left up? We set sail the week between Christmas and New Years, so wondering if things will still be decorated.
  5. How long do they stay up? We’re boarding on the 30th for December.
  6. I didn't know this! Thanks for the info! (I enjoy both, but the other half only likes tea.)
  7. The original Nespresso line does espresso only. They have regular and decaf, but no regular coffee or tea.
  8. I posted this in a separate thread, but thought I might be able to get a direct answer here: "I've read that the mini-golf and the rock wall were both removed to increase the ropes course? Are those (still) gone? Are the bungee and spider web still around? Any recent pics of the kids aquapark area? (Our last ship was the Encore, and it doesn't seem like the kids aquapark is nearly as cool on the Breakaway.)" I know this is a ways outside of your wheelhouse, but have you seen any other cool stuff for kids who are (probably) just under the 48" height mark? Thanks!!
  9. That's where I heard about the minigolf being gone! Thanks again!
  10. Hi all. Headed out on the Breakaway next month and just wanted to get the input of some recent guests to see which of the things I remember from 2016 are still around. I've read that the mini-golf and the rock wall were both removed to increase the ropes course? Are those (still) gone? Are the bungee and spider web still around? Any recent pics of the kids aquapark area? (Our last ship was the Encore, and it doesn't seem like the kids aquapark is nearly as cool on the Breakaway.) Any advise on cool stuff for kids who are (probably) just under the 48" height mark? Thanks all, and sorry for the double post!
  11. This is great advice! On our first cruise with a kiddo, we packed ibuprofen, but not Motrin. Luckily, we were traveling with some other parents so we were able to borrow some to stagger doses. We overpack meds now. Also be sure to pack enough diapers. We've always just packed the sleeves right in our suitcase, and used that extra space for souvenirs or less folded clothes on the way home. Advise for dirty diapers - we always packed a roll of the diaper genie inserts to make disposal easier for us.
  12. Hi all. Headed out on the Breakaway next month with some kids and just wanted to get the input of some recent sailors to see which of the things I remember from 2016 are still around. I've read that the mini-golf and the rock wall were both removed to increase the ropes course? Are those (still) gone? Are the bungee and spider web still around? Any recent pics of the kids aquapark area? (Our last ship was the Encore, and it doesn't seem like the kids aquapark is nearly as cool on the Breakaway.) Also I came across this picture (below) on NCL's website and was curious about the spiral slide - that's the spiderweb, and still around, right? Thanks everyone!! For reference, the kids will probably be just under the 48" height requirement for most of the really fun stuff, but still able to do the family waterslide and the skytykes rope course.
  13. Two dads and two boys who will want to eat at Teppanyaki. Thanks for the confirmation Bird! Sadly, not sure if the kids club will be available for 4.
  14. Hi all. Platinum NCLer sailing on the Breakaway for the first time in the Haven. We last sailed in early 2020, right before the world shut down. My husband and I are sailing with our two kids, 4 and 6. The adults have the 2 meal SDP, and we're both platinum. A few dining questions: 1) I know the dining credits aren't transferable. Can we use our platinum voucher for the kids, since they're in our cabin, or at least half a voucher for one of us and half for one kid? (Teppanyaki specifically) 2) First time in the Haven, so I imagine we'll be dining there more often than not. We have a dinner booked at Teppanyaki with some other family, but don't have any others booked yet. I saw we can use the SDP for Raw Bar and Wasabi, neither of which we've been to on other cruises. Are either of these open for lunch? Are either of them worth using an SDP credit on? (We may just waste some credits if not.) Does anyone have a (current) Wasabi menu? 3) Anything we definitely need to try or should stay away from at the Haven restaurant? Thanks all!!
  15. I’ve seen plenty of those outside of the haven as well…
  16. Cruising with family on the Norwegian Breakaway on December 30th out of New Orleans. Anyone else?
  17. We decided on our family of 4 (2 adults, two kids) in a 2 br, and the rest of the family split in a haven penthouse and a forward suite. (Original plan was 10 people between 2 2 br suites.) A bit better separation for all.
  18. Awesome. Thanks for the speedy response!! Long time NCL traveler, first time Haven guest this December!
  19. Are the Starbucks drinks and fresh squeezed juices included in the Haven restaurant? I normally see prices on the standard menus.
  20. I remember Q being fine the one time we went. I wouldn't seek it out again (I'd do most of the other specialties before it) but wouldn't be angry if the group decided to go. Food Republic is amazing. We spend several meals there when we're on ships that have it.
  21. I was about to respond with the same thing. When we looked into connecting rooms in the past, they were a sleeps 4 that connected to a sleeps 3. There were very few of the sleeps 4 that connected to another sleeps 4 room. The reason for it is that NCL tends to alternate room designs, and (I believe) the bunk over the couch is only when the bed is near the window, not when the bed is near the bath.
  22. Hi all, We're thinking of booking a pair of the Haven two-bedroom suites (16106 and 16108) on the Breakaway and wanted general thoughts from people who've stayed in them beforehand. Both of these are listed to sleep 6. Are we meant to sleep two in the living room or three in the smaller bedroom? Is there a pullman bed in the second bedroom above the couch? How terrible are the non-master beds on the ship? We're two families with two (small) kids each, but we're also thinking of bringing along a grandparent or two. Is it cruel to stick an adult or two in the second bedroom or in the living room? Any other thoughts on the rooms are appreciated. Thanks all!
  23. Hey all! After several looooong years of no cruising due to COVID and kids not being eligible for the vaccine, we're looking to cruise again this winter!! Does anyone know if Six is currently only on the Bliss and Breakaway? It won't make or break the trip, but may push us towards one ship over another.
