Newbie to HAL, what to expect?

Hi all

I've recently booked my first HAL trip on the Nieuw Amsterdam for the Med next September.

I've sailed on Celebrity regularly plus one-time forays with Costa and Princess. (liked Princess, disliked Costa).

For those HAL regulars who have cross-shopped, what can I expect in terms of food, service, fellow passengers etc?

We've never been on Celebrity or Princess, but from all the threads I've read on this forum all three lines are very similar. Celebrity is most often said to be very comparable.

 

However, since the Nieuw Amsterdam will only be a couple of months old in September you may find many of the "growing pain" problems that plagued the Eurodam in its first 6 months. :(

 

We are hoping to go on the N.A. next Sep also.

Thanks , hopefully the lessons learned from Eurodam will be applied to Nieuw Amsterdam so it has a smoother "honeymoon" season.
