Dover Tour Guide recommendations

We will be in Dover for two days prior to the departure of our cruise in June, 2010. The six of us would like recommendations for a guide in Dover and the surrounding area. Thanks.

They are a group of volunteers who will show you around the town free of charge. We had a lovely morning touring the town, did a short cruise and had lunch. They then arranged a taxi to the castle for us and transportation to our hotel at Gatwick. One of the ladies even invited us to her home right beneath the cliffs. It was really lovely and we enjoyed seeing everything through the eyes of the locals. They can also give you the local perspective on other tours. Enjoy.

Our cruise will end in Dover. How far is it to airport. Any suggestions for transfers or possibly tours ending at airport?

The closest airport is Gatwick, but that's a good 1 1/2-2 hours. Heathrow is considerably further.
