H2so4 question!

Hi, Your thorough reviews have been great! I have just been going back over them as I get my daughter and I ready for our trip in Dec! I have a question, the waterproof pants, are they completely waterproof? were they goretex? I am just wondering if our ski pants will do the job or not.

Thanks again for all your detailed reports!

They were completely waterproof and we wore them while we were walking around on shore. They were pretty comfortable and the fleece pants we wore under them kept us cozy.

Keep in mind that you'll be getting out of the zodiacs into ankle- to knee-deep water. Your pants go over your boots as you don't want the water streaming down them and into your boot. I'm not a skier, but unless your ski pants are completely waterproof, I'd go for rain pants of some sort. (I think the unlined pants we bought were about $30 -- have worn them a lot since we bought them in 2006, so they turned out to be well worth the money for us.)

Have a terrific time ... you're heading to a wonderful part of the world.
