sqerlygirl Posted November 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2009 I spoke to my PVP about booking a Dream cruise for Jan 2011...he said that the past guest rates were not available yet. He advised me to book the funsaver rate now and he can apply the past guest rate (if it is lower) and a room upgrade later when the pg rates are released. Does this sound right? Do the past guest rates not show online for cruises that far in the future? My hope is that I can book an Early Saver rate on Riviera and then get bumped up to Upper or Empress level .... does being a past guest guarantee a room upgrade to a higher deck? Thanks! Amerikaner83 Posted November 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2009 Book the ES, then you've got the price guarantee as well for any other fares you're qualified for including past guest. Being a past guest does NOT guarantee ANY upgrade for free.
Traveler353 Posted November 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2009 OP: Please read the Early Saver rules very carefully. If you feel comfortable with them then go with the ES for your booking. If you book ES and the rate goes down, same cruise, same cabin cat., etc. then you "may" be eligable for a refund or credit.
firefly333 Posted November 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2009 If you book ES now and the past guest rate includes a upgrade, but still costs more than you paid ... no you wouldnt get the upgrade, unless you pay for it. There is no set time they will post past guest rates, but they rarely post them for a year ahead of time for most any of the discounts, like senior also, is usually posted after final payment even later than past guest rates as a rule. There might never be a past guest rate.
